PRESIDENT SERVES LSU 14 YEARS

Lawrence T. Geraty announced to the La Sierra University board of
trustees on November 9 that he will retire from the presidency at the end of the school year. A story on the president's decision appeared in the Press Enterprise on Friday, November 10 (p. B1). Geraty has 45 years
of service to the church; he has been president of LSU since 1993.

"Many of our major goals have been achieved," he said, including the fruition of the Riverwalk land development and the Thaine B. Price Science Complex. "I feel the quality of our faculty and students are at the highest level in the university's history," he added. "I am grateful to Provost Warren Trenchard, the deans, and the donors for making this a reality." U.S. News and World Report has again rated La Sierra as the most diverse university in the West in terms of its ethnic and racial composition. The president and his wife plan to retire in the Inland Empire area.
