Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Here are some questions I might use to bring out the main points in this lesson:

1. What event in Joseph's life most impressed you? Why?

2. How can you see the Lord leading in Joseph's life?

3. How can you see Satan attacking Joseph?
In your opinion, which of the events mentioned was the most pivotal in helping Joseph become the second ruler in Egypt?
You may choose only one

I am amazed at how this young man was able to stay faithful to God and not let anger or bitterness draw him into sinning as a result of his victimization. He chose to honor God with his life that is clear, rather then to give into the flesh and chose righteousness rather then sin against God.

The only way I can explain it is the constant background refrain in the Genesis account that Joseph was close to God. This earth, in other words, was simply a way station to something better, not an end to be enjoyed in and of itself. The Egyptian wife, on the other hand, was committed to enjoy this world. Apparently she didn't worry about what followed this life or even the results like various sexual diseases that might come from one's actions here on earth.
