Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Acts 1:12- "Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day's walk from the city."

This is the distance beyond which it was considered unlawful to travel (for the Jews) on the Sabbath.

Its limitation is supposed to have originated in Ex.16:29, where every man is commanded to abide in his place on the Sabbath day.

The distance of a Sabbath day's journey was 2000 cubits. This is said to be the distance between the Israelites and the Ark of the Covenant when they crossed the Jordan river. Two thousand cubits is less than 1/2 mile.
