"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness." Psalm 17:15
Here is a statement of trust by David that the Lord will wake him up one day and when David does awake he will be in the likeness of God.
We know from Acts 2:34 that this didn't happen before that time. The Apostles in that day (and probably David himself) expected a "waking up" time. From the Bible we know that will happen at the Second Coming of Jesus.
But David's prayer here can be ours, the promise of a resurrection of the just can be ours if we are Christ's :)
