Here is a question or two I might ask my Sabbath School class to get the discussion started:

1. What part does directing our will have towards obtaining our salvation?

2. If we direct our will, isn't that salvation by works?

I said "God does," and He does up to a point. I think of the lit' poem that goes, "Let Go and Let God"

I still have a struggle letting go and letting Him worry about my problems. He'll be up all night as it is.
Thankfully, He doesn't try to control every little thing.

The reason I say this is the parenting experience. You lead your child in the way they should go and hopefully they'll become wise about certain things when it comes to method. WE think that we know all the answers but He lets us find out otherwise.

Think that it is a matter of trust that we don't always have but that is the result of life's exeriences. Why do we (most of us) have to grow old before learning those lessons, I'll never know.

The way I see it ... God refuses to direct our will. He will inspire our will. But in the end ... God inspires ... we perspire.

'I can do all things thru God who strengthens me'
We're like married! We're in partnership here. When I mess up it's because I've gone too far away from Him in applying my personal will to situations. I do better when close to Him, and not afraid.

Fear is the absence of love, God is love, therefore if I'm worried or afraid .... I'm Godless? Yikes.
When I think of the time I have wasted in worry and fears, that's humbling.
