Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Here are two questions I might use to start or keep a Sabbath School class discussion going:

1. What is meekness?
2. Does being a meek Christian mean that a Christian should not be a political activist?
A meek Christian would not:
You may choose only one

Meekness is what exactly? Is it looking down from a cross and asking forgiveness for those who put you there? (All sinners are partakers of the crucifixtion) Is it Stephen who while being faithful to God with his last breath, forgave those that stoned him asking that it not be held against them? Is it like being in 2nd grade and a girl steals your eraser and the next day you figure she knows, you know, and God knows so is there any need to tell anybody else? So I didn't. I would like to know more about this. Please share. \:\)

Meekness does not mean that you allow someone to steal something and "get away with it". A meek person is not a "doormat". Moses was the "meekest man on earth" -- but he dealt with some very difficult people. He was firm, he insisted that they do the right thing, he was upset over their disobedience, but when God told him to punish the wicked -- he did so.

He was meek, because, although he recognised his God-given task of leading over a million people through the desert, he was not "puffed up" with his own importance.

God bless,

Beryl
