Many moons ago, PUC hosted a drama group called "Company One"...The director was Jim Pappas, and he has since taken his drama to the foothills of California.

There are several radio drama series out by him along with videos...Jim shines best in radio/theater productions...You might be interested in listening to Pilgrim Progress. Very well done.

When we [yes, I was a part of the group many years back] went to Yountville and to the theater [don't know if it is still around anymore] and put productions on for the community. Mary Song was very well recieved, Faces in the Shadows, Count the Stars, Six O'clock news were theater productions and were well recieved by the community. We took our acting to the road, and went to various churches and did skits, mimes and of course short plays to the churches of Lodi, Bakerfield, Mountain View Church, Loma Linda and many others. It was a lot of fun.

So much so, that my family did drama in Boise Idaho for a couple of years using members of the community. It was also fun for a while...and we used skits like For One Alone, Sunny the Soup Sipper, and John 9. We were well recieved there as well.

Our technique was a Reader's Theater, and we modified it. We used no costumes, but rather plain non-attracting dress. Nothing shining, or flashy was ever used in our costumes. We used the imagination, and it gave a much better customized picture of what we protrayed. As I have said, it was fun and most rewarding experience that I have had in evangelizm...
