I am just curious how many of us from Down Under are regular visitors here and with the rejuvenation of the forum thought it might be nice to know.

There are many spirited, and incredible real Ozzy's who happen to be females. If you are a real Ozzy who is a male then join in, variety is always a plus.

Sometimes being proactive more effective than criticising. The desired results can happen without antagonising the 'other side'. I think Satan would much rather see people in conflict than co-operating.

And you still have not told how this forum is like a local knitting club, working fulltime work in a predominantly male profession it is something which I do not have time to pursue.

If there is a topic you want to discuss, please start it off. You might - or might not - be surprised at the results.

In knitting clubs everyone tip toes around trying not to offend anyone else to the point where everyone loses their personality - "oh, please don't say anything to upset people" - all I've done is rolled in a few sarcastic remarks and I'm already in the sin bin.

If you want males to hang out here then you are gonna need to be a bit more tolerant than this ladies.

Let me tell you the truth about this, Male Man. Firstly, you are most welcome. Secondly -- Your coming and joining us just MAY awaken ghe sleeping giants!

Again, Male Man, we can cope with sarcasm - I am quite good at it myself but try to keep it in check - but in the longer term some constructive suggestions will do more to change things.

Bring on these things you want to discuss/vent/explore. If you want the discussion rough and tumble, as you will see on other places on this board, that can surely happen.

I find it interesting that he defines himself as a "Male Man".

Maybe he has times when he's not quite sure, and he needs to keep reminding himself.

Maybe our brother should go and spend his time on the Men's forum. That way he doesn't have to interact with any females, and doesn't have to worry about being contaminated by girl germs.

I haven't knitted for a long time. Like Nan, too busy working full-time as well as trying to take care of home and church business.

Male Man if you want a thread on "real men" that are Ozzies then start a thread and see if you can get any bites so you can discuss the issues that are close to your heart. However, just like there are women who do not belong to knitting clubs there are men who don't have to hunt or do extreme sports. Jesus said "my house shall be called a house of prayer for all people", so I think that includes all genders, races, ages etc. We might have room to improve so that all groups feel welcomed so maybe that is what needs to be discussed in another thread.

How can I start a thread for Ozzy males if you guys are here on the ready to jab them with your knitting needles the moment you disagree with what they are saying? This is not a house of prayer sis but if we are talking church then some of the most radical history changing speeches have been made in church. You think Jesus was so gentle meek and mild - think again. Jesus polarized people where ever he went. His words not only brought healing but divided those who held strong wrong opinions of what should be and what should not be.

Conflict, misunderstanding, death, persecution, family splits, disfellowship, torment, trials, tribulation, beatings, threatenings, church splits, fallen leaders and political unrest all followed after the preaching of God's word in it's entirety. If you are after a safe haven sis then you are in the wrong place and definately in the wrong church. It's only gonna get hotter from here on in if you truly believe in what is coming.

Jesus said, I did not come to bring peace but a sword - that resonates with men because it is a battle cry which we can relate to. Our own EGW's most famous bookj is called The Great Controversy but our churches are anything but. As soon as we can drop this foolish notion that church and christianity is all about feeling safe and warm then the sooner we can get on with the job of Jesus' return.

As long as your a spectator in the danger it's ok?, become a player and ask your pastor/elders/preachers to ramp it up at church - bring on the young radical men who are willing to preach and stop muzzling them and telling them they are not ready. I guess soon you will be backed by your male counterparts here and I will be shafted. Typical of what I have been talking about all along isn't it.

Then, Danny, you must have the wrong "Beryl". Either that, or there are a lot of people who say one thing to my face and another thing behind my back, because I am NOT known as being a nasty person. You may remember last time you came visiting here, your attitude was such that raised the heckles of many of those who are really mild-mannered persons. The language you used was NOT the kind that is used on this forum by even the most outspoken members.

And, although I recognised your style very quickly, you will note that I wasn't the first to do that. There are a lot of people who have vivid memories of last time you were here.

The book that you refer to is an excellent book -- good, sensible information -- certainly not meant to be used in the way that you use it. I have long encouraged men who criticize Women's Ministry to go out and start a Men's Ministry -- call it whatever name you like. But what happens? Nothing.

You did begin to advertise for men to join you in snorkling, etc, but -- was it men only AS I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED? No! You invited them to bring their families! A men's day out?

Danny, you need to learn what it means to work for men. They DON'T necessarily want to bring their whole family with them. They want a "get-together" with MEN. I thought, of all people, you would have understood that!

I can tell you of one REAL man in WA who does a wonderful job with the men and boys in the area where he lives. He has quite a large boat -- he refers to is as his missionary boat.

He gets around men in the town where he lives (and EVERYBODY knows him), and he invited them along for a day's fishing. He showed me the note that is posted on his boat. Firstly it outlines the things they CAN'T do -- no smoking, no swearing, etc. etc. -- then he lists the things that they CAN do -- enjoy themselves, catch fish, etc, ending up with "You can ask me any Bible question that you like".

He tells me that, usually when they are having lunch, someone will ask him a question that they think is one that will catch him out -- but it never has, and that opens up the conversation to spiritual things. He keeps an old Bible on the boat especially for this purpose. There were 11 baptisms last year in that church -- including men.

He does the same for some of the younger "scalliwags" of the town -- teenagers, early 20s. Eternity alone will show the work that he has done. Oh, yes, I nearly forgot. What happens to the fish he had personally caught? As you would expect, he takes them to some of the men of the town who he knows like fish, but are not always able to go fishing.

With him, there is none of the "ruffling of feathers" that happens with you. He is a Christian gentleman who loves a bit of humour, who can crack a joke with anyone, and never ruffles their feathers. A REAL man!

Danny, soften your approach (and that is gentlemanly), don't ruffle everyone's feathers -- treat people with respect -- and you will find that you are also treated with respect, but continue to ruffle feathers, and you will get your feathers ruffled in reply -- like happened last time you were here.

I'm not critisising womens ministry just the overbalance of power and influence which is very evident here. Why does nothing ever happen with mens groups? Because the feminazi's do not support it like they support womens ministries or they fight against it like you are doing.

Your telling me how to work for men? If you had truly read and understood the book beryl, then you would not be taking the stand you are taking. It amazes me how some here seem to get a blank check with how they attack members. If some on this forum were to even hint of some of the things you have said ... they would be out. But since this forum is tolerant towards those like you ... I will have to speak out ...
