That's great. Thanks again. Just sort of experimenting with posting images.

Sure. The picture was made with a digital camera, Finepix S 5000, at the Water Garden in Denver Botanical Gardens: http://www.botanicgardens.org/pageinpage/home.cfmIt's one of the largest and most beautiful Botanic gardens I know of. It was made about high noon, not usually the best time to photograph, but this time it worked to my advantage because having the sun directly overhead accounts for the clear view in the water beneath the lily pads. I edited the photograph using the Filter in the PhotoShop Elements. I hope it would do Claude Monet proud.

Wonderful! I like the Downtown pictures, especially.

It means a lot to me to see your compliments because I know you enjoy looking at pictures and know a good one when you see it.
By the way, I have a friend who is doing some of the same kind of work in Denver that I am doing in LA. Right now he's working all along Colfax Ave., which I believe is the longest "main drag" in America. I plan to go there in August to photograph during the Democratic convention.

Out of all your latest pictures, I kept coming back to this one. It's almost surreal. I get the feeling that everything is almost computer generated except for the dove. The dove is only real feature in the pic. I really, really like this picture.

That hadn't occurred to me before, but come to think of it, I can see what you mean. I waited for over two hours for a dove to get into that perfect position, too, and now I'm glad I did. It really makes the picture, as you say.
The exposure was made on a 4x5 Tri-X negative in a "field camera"-- you know, one of those old cameras where you see the image reversed and you have to wear that cloth over your head.

This portrait i like very much. His personality seems to come through - a thoughtful man.

Don't feel bad, but it's Mrs. Clark. She may look somewhat masculine. But thanks-- you're right, her personality does come through. She was sitting just inside an open window and the rest of the cabin was unlighted because she had no electricity. I lived with the family for over a month before I felt at liberty to start taking photographs.

There you go!
She was a wonderful person, the mother of 3 sons and 2 daughters. She spoke no English but only Navaho, and she made great Navaho bread and lamb stew on a stove, a picture of which I will post right now. I will also post a picture of her and her husband outside their cabin.
