He was an SDA pastor & evangelist from 1900 to 1915 and wrote many pamphlets on this typewriter.

This is the restaurant of the "Hotel California" that the Eagles sang about on one of their albums and which became a big hit in 1977. The photo was made in 1981, as part of an effort to save the hotel from destruction. The hotel was finally razed about 1984.
Some of the lyrics were:
