Of course! They go home with the people!

I lost a spoon during an earthquake. Never did find it again. Possibly the spoons from Australia go to the same fold in the space/time continuum?

Just a sidebar: Since listening more to the BBC these days, I've noticed they use the term "go missing" quite a bit. It's not a phrase I hear a lot in the U.S.

Maybe they wouldn't worry about the spoons if they used plastic ones that are worth very little and also disposable. Soft of compare the cost of disposable versus the cost of replacing the missing ones.

18,000,000.....spoons.....Ozzie reseachers...

Was that limited to just the land of Oz?

'Cuz, I am wondering...if there was 18 million missing on that ..[ahem]small island, you'd think that maybe some aborigional or someone would find a few....

Maybe a spoon artist needs 'em. Creative persons can, and do, make all kinds of creations using spoons (forks, too), some of which are sold to tourists, at least here in the US of A. Those living in Oz should keep their eyes out for a giant spoon mural appearing on a wall sometime in the future.

Alternatively, perhaps the burgeoning drug culture is using them.

Another possibility: They are being melted down for, hmmm, well for what I couldn't say.

And continuing this thought, and broadening it out some, if you DON't find that large, giant spoon mural, it just goes to show that there are no creative persons in Oz. scared [and what about THE Bravus????] ....And thus, we still have 18 millions spoons in limbo somewheres..... ayeyiyi
