It depends on where you are. Verizon is apparently the only one that serves the PUC area well. However, ATT is the best at the moment (things change) for my little plot of earth.
You were in California and didn't need help finding an Ethiopian restaurant? Arrrrgh.

I have Verizon. The only place I have found where I DO NOT GET RECEPTION AT ALL, is on top of the coast range. Over on hwy 101 reception can be spotty. But then you don't see alot of cell towers on the coast either.
Verizon users call also call other Verizon users for free.

Hmmmmmmmm.....which begs the question, which carrier do you have.
Stan has both ATT and Verizon. [ Um, why???]
Amelia has Verizon.
Not sure about Lynndell...
I have Verizon.... Or is this too much information that is given over the internet?

Stan has both ATT and Verizon. [ Um, why???] Stan, being the gadget guy that he is, JUST HAD to have that iphone. Don't you remember Stan is all about Apple/Mac? The iphone only contracts through ATT. Why he has Verizon? Um dunno

Spent a few days in California, ( it is south of Oregon and West of Nevada if you are looking on a map :) )
I have both ATT ( iPhone) Verizon (Razr)
What a difference, as much as I do not like the ads (can you HEAR me now) the difference in reception is significant.
Also, Verizon has a way better North American Plan...
Any other experiences? I have Verizon but my wife and kids have ATT. My parents and brothers have Verizon so we can talk anytime anyplace for free on the Verizon to Verizon plan. I have found Verizon has decent coverage over the whole state on my travels as well as Arizona and Nevada and Hawaii when I go there on occasion.

I converted to Verizon since AT&T provides a complete deadzone over my neighborhood. (actually I am totally Verizon as I also have at home local land line service, internet and TV through Verizon FIOS)
And I was pleasantly surprised to be able to use Verizon seamlessly under their international calling coverage while on Guam recently. (I just have the standard North American plan) International roaming coverage in certain key countries (I think it includes Canada for us US plan holders) is available without having to sign up ahead of time or for any length of time. The roaming charge wasn't significantly different than using a long distance calling card. It used to be that you couldn't even use you phone outside the US for most cell providers at all. Or if they did have international coverage you still couldn't unless you had signed up ahead of time before a trip for a costly international plan coverage for at least a month.

In the January 08 issue of CR that compared ATT-Version-Tmobile, etc. Version came in first in all but 5 cities out of 20 that they had in the report. And the ones that they did not come in first they came in 2nd. Back in 2001, or I should say up until that year, I had Cingular One. I had nothing but problems with them. So I investagated other company's and pick Voicestream wireless. They were awesome. I had no more area's were the phone would not come in. Also the plans were 2nd to none. Than t-mobile bought them out. There not bad but not as good. If I have to change which I think I might do in the next few years I will probably go with Version. I would have gone with them a few years ago but I have never been at a Version place that the people are nice. It always seems that if your not there to buy they want nothing to do with you. Anyway that's my 2 cents worth.
