Here is a question I might use to introduce this lesson to a group:

What Christ did for Judas in washing his feet and loving him, treating him respectfully even while Judas was plotting Jesus' arrest by His enemies--- shows me that Jesus would do the same with Satan himself if He could.

Not that it would do Satan any good but it shows that God is not revengeful or holding grudges even against His worst enemies.

Think of how Jesus could have accused and shamed Judas publicly because He knew Judas' thoughts and plans-- yet He didn't. And that is how He treats each of us, too. He treats even his self-declared enemies with love, understanding, and dignity.

Judas and Satan will be lost, yes, but it's not because of God's anger or bad feelings. God has even love for Satan in the sense that He will be crying as Satan perishes. What a God!

I have to agree with John. I think its absolutely amazing how Jesus treated Judas. Not that the other choices were any less compassionate.

I have just found this forum and am looking forward to reading your thoughts. I've been in the habit of going to www.ssnet.org for my daily study but since Friday I've been getting error 403 Forbidden! Does anyone know why it's down and when it might be back up? I don't know how to get in touch with the webmaster so I'm in the dark. Does anyone have any information about it?

I'll be back to add what I can as soon as I've studied my lesson!

I identify with the adulterous woman because of my gender. Women in general were looked upon as inferior (we still are in some circles). Jesus treated her as another human being, not someone to be taken out and stoned.
