Have you ever wanted a TV channel with good programing but not necessarily 24/7 religious programming? I mean, imagine a channel with some sports, some nature, art, music, medical and science shows. While we are dreaming how about tossing in some classic sit-coms like Andy Griffith, Ozzie & Harriet, The Lucy Show and Beverly Hillbillies. We would also need some nightly news too, right? A weekly program that discussed politics from an Adventist perspective that took live calls from viewers would be awesome too. It would be really cool too if on Friday night and Sabbath there would be just religious programming.
Wouldn't that be an awesome TV channel? Would any group of Adventists be wild and crazy enough to try to put such a channel together? If they did, would they ever get funding? How could people get the channel into their homes?
Well,,, as hard as it is to believe... God has already done this work. Nope... it's not 3ABN. No... not the Hope Channel either. It is SafeTV. Safe for the whole family. One can get it by purchasing an FTA dish sold by our friends at Glorystar (just Google it). The best part is there are never any monthly fees to pay. The "F" in FTA stands for free (free-to-air). Pointing the dish right is harder than DirecTV or DISH Network's dishes so I suggest getting professional installation.

We just finished out camp meeting on Sabbath and I was (am) responsible for our Sabbath School Program. For the first week's Sabbath School I invited Monte Church and one of our 1st Nation pastors to present it. Monte Church spoke and he also brought Carlos (can't remember his last name) He is the producer of Native New Day and I believe the owner/producer of SafeTV. They shared about Native New Day. It was an excellent presentation and very interesting.
In British Columbia we have quite a large population of Aboriginals and we wanted to know how to work with them better than we currently are.

Hmm, that's a nice play on words, calling native americans aboriginals. To a certain extent i guess aboriginal and indigenous mean the same thing. When I hear the word aboriginal I think of the indigenous people of australia, as if aboriginal was their tribal name. I don't want to unravel all that.
I do miss the tv show native new day. I fondly remember coming home from work on friday and that distinctive flute music from that show would sort of signal that indeed the sabbath had started.

It's not just an Australian term - I've often heard the first inhabitants of Canada referred to as Aboriginal.
I think it just comes from the Latin for "those who were there from the beginning" - ab origine.

I got this from Word Info aborigines 1. Native; any of the first or earliest known inhabitants of a region. 2. Etymology: ab- + origine, "original". The Aborigines, an Italian tribe from Latium whom the Latins were said to be descended; hence original inhabitants of a country.
