Description of site

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don't see things the way you do.
And don't jump all over them every time they do or say something you don't agree with
- even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

It seems to be the year for Church "Accountability" and this book follows up on that track. It is written by Douglass Hackleman and is sub titled "Misadventures in Stewardship".;Douglass has done many years of deep and valid research and doesn't stop at naming names of those that have been involved with deception and foolish decisions that resulted in the loss of millions upward to billions of dollars within the GC and on down to the local conferences.

If you lived through the Davenport era and Harris Pine Mills you will find all of that (in depth) and many more that just barely touch the edge of the breaking iceberg. Sad but true.

You can check out the book and order from www.advmca.org that stands for Adventist Members for Church Accountability.

I had never heard of this website before but this book was reviewed on 'Spectrum on line' last week.

Leadership accountability is just as necessary as membership accountability.

Olger, church accountability starts with leadership seeing that their employees are responsible and accountable.

Church accountability then becomes the members, seeing that their leaders are responsible and accountable.

I think I agree, but I don't quite understand the "becomes the members" part.

You are right that didn't come out right.

Try this:

1. The General Conf. and local Conference Presidents (and their boards) are responsible for seeing that the church employees (pastor's etc) are accountable for their bad actions (home abuse, sexual encounters, financial deceptions)

2. The church members are responsible for seeing that the above is done by making the GC and Leadership accountabile for THEIR actions.

Did that help?

Yea it's a great, well researched book. Although a better website to visit is Hacksplace.com it has an extensive preview of the book and other works by Douglas Hackleman. And you can purchase it directly from that site.
