Isaiah 54:17- No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper: and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me.

I thought about this and wondered if bullets would bounce off our chests like Superman.

I have no doubt that there will be instances similar to that. I have read many missionary miracle protection stories over the years. I believe it to be so.

However there have also been martyrs.

I still believe that we can take the Lord at His word here. Daniel and his friends did not know that Jesus would save them from their fiery ordeal. They were prepared to pay the ultimate price for Him and were surprised when the fire did not hurt them, only the ropes that bound them.

But think about it: If one has his life hid in Christ, what can knives or bullets or fire or explosions do to hurt him? If he die, it is only a minor interruption between here and eternity. Satan no longer has a chance to torment the righteous one, whose trust is in God.

They neither not need fear condemnation from humans, for their righteous characters testify on their behalf. Instead, the Bible promises that the condemnation shall be turned back on the tongues that started it.

If you trust in the Lord, NO WEAPON that is formed against you shall prosper. None!
