Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Yes I agree the Seals are a special group, but I include all the Special Force soldiers. They all go thru very difficult training, Marines, Army Rangers, Green Berets, etc. But look at Desmond Doss, he wasn't any of those and he probably saved more lives than anyone. I conceder him as special as them.

Yes, I agree, I wasn't meaning on taking anything away from the other branches of the service. I was just mentioning the SEAL's because that was who the book was about. I also agree about Desmond Doss.

In this day and age when the world tries to make hero's out of sports figures, singers, and movie stars it is really nice to run across the true hero's. These are the people we should try and get our children to emulate. Ordinary people who do extraodinary jobs that makes a difference in people's lives or they die trying. People like policemen/women, firefighters, and the men and women in uniform defending our country.

O.k. off my soapbox now.

Right now I'm in the middle of a children's book about the life of Thomas Gallaudet, who started America's first school for the deaf.

Sickly as a youth, he was prevented from law and preaching as career choices. Finally, thinking about a neighbour girl who was deaf and mute, he got a vision.

Moral of his life story- Don't think that ill health can destroy any dreams of doing something big for the Lord! You'd be surprised at what God may have in store for you!

Im currently reading.
Vagabond Its a manga.
Very inspiring story about The greatest sword master Miyamoto Musashi.
Very humble beginnings to become a homeless dedicated sword fighter. Its different from other pop mangas since this is actually a very good story and a source of inspiration of living humbly.
Please excuse myself of introducing very different and odd type type of reading materials. But I find the story very heart touching. Also has sword duels not for the faint of heart. I only read it online though.
Its really worthwhile reading this stuff.
