I don't speak very well in English. I have question about using the mirrors and candles (together) in worship services. I think it is from occultist, but I can't find proof in internet. Please give me advice, who can help me. I have photos from that service. Which topic is right for this question?

Thank You.

A good one to try is Townhall - you can talk about anything there.

Welllll. Maybe not. Someone might tell you it belongs somewhere else.

But Townhall is a good place to start.

I hate to disagree with my good friend Karl ... but I would not start off in Townhall. This topic is religious in nature. Specifically ... it's "Real Issues in Adventism Today" ... but it could morph into something like "Theological Talk".

One does have to be careful where one posts unfortunately. (There are posting police lurking.)

CANDLES were used in hoodoo practice in AFRICAN
countries and candel worship is use in the catholic
church for prayers... these both were combined with
American folk lore and used for prayers for people

Candles and mirrors are also used in witchcraft.

We had a Pathfinder induction ceremony during the worship service recently. There were a couple dozen candles lighted during the ceremony. One candle was lighted for/by each Pathfinder and for each of the Pathfinder Laws I believe it was.

It was all very symbolic and inspiring. The kids did great.

Isn't there a Smoke and Mirrors Forum? Or was that changed to Politics?

If I mentioned the name of _ _ _ _ _ this thread might be trasfered to the politics section for sure. But since I resisted posting his name ... I think we are safe for the time being.

You have to be so technical, Woody.
We had candles for a pathfinder induction in our church and it caused several people to stop coming. One lady said she was waiting for the pope to come down the aisle.

These are babes in the faith, of course.

Since when do the Catholics exclusively own the rights to use candles?

The original question was about using candles along with mirrors. I don't think the Catholic church does that.

Just using candles alone in a religious service, I wouldn't have a problem at all with that. Look at all the weddings we have where candles are nearly always used.
