Dr. Calvin L. Thrash died a short while ago, at 5:53 p.m., Tuesday,
February 5, 2002. He was 73. The funeral will be held at noon on
Thursday, February 7, at the Uchee Pines Chapel, with graveside services
following in the Uchee Pines Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Chapel
from 10 a.m. to noon. The family requests no flowers; instead please
make a memorial donation to the Uchee Pines Building Fund for the new
Lifestyle Center that was so close to Dr. Calvinšs heart. To move
forward in this project was his last request. For those that have
asked, the address is 30 Uchee Pines Road, #1, Seale, AL 36875.

There will also be a memorial service this Sunday, February 10, at 11
a.m. in the Uchee Pines Chapel.

Regarding Dr. Calvinšs illness, he developed a melanoma several years
ago in an old birthmark. Since it looked and changed with age like one
his grandmother had, he assumed these were natural, hereditary changes;
however, sun exposure when he was younger apparently led to its
development into a melanoma. It was removed from his back about two and
a half years ago and there was no recurrence in the primary spot. This
past August a swollen node was discovered under his arm. This was
removed with the hope that the surgeon had gotten it all, but it had
obviously spread throughout the lymphatic system. He died quietly at
home, with his family and loved ones around him.

A heart set on love will do no wrong- Confucius

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Isaiah 32:17
