Club Adventist

Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

Alex, I told my mom about your experiment with texting during the sermon. She was appalled. And I told her about your experience with the person who had a problem for 30 years. She said every church bulletin has the phone number of the church pastor on it. So if the person really wanted to talk, there were many opportunities for him to talk to a pastor. Anyway, just thought you might want to hear the reaction from one of the "older" members of a church.

Thanks for the feedback

I thought the same thing. But the gentleman was a visitor, probably didn't keep the church bulletin and since my phone number was in his phone and he thought I was the pastor, he might have decided to call me on a whim.

If some of the older, more rigid and conservative folk like your mom in my church felt the way she did, they didn't tell me.

Alex (must be because they think I'm cute bwink )

My church is conservative up to a point. They do have a lot of youth participating in the worship service with music. There's one singer in my church who plays her guitar to her own compositions. Then there's the country/western gospel duo who sing okay, but the lady has hair poofed out like Little Orphan Annie. If she sits in front of you in the pews you have to move because of all that hair!
