Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

May the Lord bless any woman who has long hair, who takes the time to care to wash it and brush it out. I really like long hair, but I understand the time it takes to take care of it...And may the Lord bless any woman who has short hair who does not have the time to wash it and brush it out as well. I understand those women who want to be free from all the self care they invest in the hair....

What has brought on this sudden exhibition of political correctness, Neil ?

Of course I am not being cynical and your kind thoughts to the long haired (them) and short haired (me) are greatly appreciated.

amen regarding 'the pure in heart'.

God gave you that verse to you to share with me cause so our spiritsh agrees!!!!!!!!!

God gave me Psalms 24:3 and 4. years ago. The HolySpirit gave that preciouse promise to me regarding Celibacy. Ive tried to share this verse withh the good people on Belief.com(SDA area) and they disagreeed and mocked it. So I dont want to go thru that again. Christians can be so nasty when they dont agree withh you line by exact line. And if they do disagree with you on any subject they see fit they QUESTION your christian experience. So what God has shared with me is not up for debate.
Clean Hands and a Pure Heart= True Celibacy
Clean Hands represent outward actions and a Pure Heart represent inner thinking, mindset, and imaginations.
Celibacy is a Gift of GOD. I can change my actions but not my heart.
Praise GOD
Thanku for giving me this opportunity.

Amen, G4Jesus.

So long as we can not walk in each others' shoes, we cannot criticise what God has revealed to them regarding their Christian walk.

God bless you.

I may be an exhibitionist , but political correctness was never in my genes....:)

As I was reading this thread, there were so many negetive thoughts on "you must have long hair" [or you are unbiblical and emperiling your standing before God]. And my thought was "so what????" God gave us brains to think. He knows the reasonableness of short hair. It's easier to take care of.

I think that I gave my bias/preference to long hair. But I have seen many a cute short hair styles that do not diminished the woman in any respect....So to me, it is not that big of deal. But I am sure that you all wanted my approval in this area.....NOT!

Plus, what exactly constitutes long hair? I used to have waist-length hair that gave me a headache--it was too heavy, and if I braided it (uh, oh, a no no) or pulled it back, it really hurt. I now have it a little longer than shoulder length, which is much cooler in HK (I can't stand it so hot when it's that long) and MUCH easier to deal with--some people say that's long--to me, it's short because of how long it used to be. It's all relative.

True story on hair length: happened at church this morning.

Walked in to Sabbath School, sat down next to a woman I haven't seen in 6 months or so. An older woman than I, more direct and to the point. Loving, nonetheless.

No "Hello," no "How've you been, Chris?" Instead, the first words I heard, "You need a haircut."

Nothing Biblical about it. Just short and simple, "You look ridiculous with long hair. Get it cut."

So, I'm most likely going to get a haircut this week!

I would have totally lost myself in laughter! Ha!

This woman is a dear, dear friend. I haven't seen her in long time, but she is so very dear to my heart. It's all right that she greeted me this way. She's honest. She loves me and I know it.

It's the same sort of feeling I'd have if I were to go home to my grandmothers after having been away for a long time--it was a loving way of greeting.

And, besides, I need a hair cut and I know it.

Dear person,

Oftentimes we get bad influences from those who seem to be speaking for our good but in reality are giving wrong advice that when taken can lead down a sad path.

Even though one may be speaking to us out of kindness, in this critical time, we must be more discerning. Remember, character runs more than hair follicle deep.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gray
