The 10 Commandments are like a code of ethics which many of us sign upon employment. If we violate our employer's code of ethics we may lose our job. So it is with the 10 C's. If we value them so little, or respect their creator so little, that we violate one or more of them, we may not have a part to play in the next life.
The Law of God is designed to protect us from harming each other by avoiding selfish, hurtful behaviors. Our first responsibility is to love, honor, and obey the LORD at all times. Next we must love everyone and do no harm to them, or ourselves. Only those willing to do this will be qualified to be workers for God in the next life, where everyone must get along, forever.
Those who willfully harm others and practice selfishness will not be given the gift of living forever in peace and harmony and selflessness.
