amazing what is "out there". :) i hope this is enjoyed.
this is from someones personal study...
The KJV says...
Isa 41:13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
I'm attaching the supporting document, but here is my Conceptual, Intimate Picture Translation of Isaiah 41:13 based on the original text in Hebrew.
For I, YHVH, your God, as we bind and twist ourselves together like the cords of a rope so that we become one in purpose, desire, strength, and power, will hold you up and cause you to be confirmed and strengthened, and to be undaunted, established, and unmovable in your footing, calling out to you and commanding you "Do not tremble or quake with fear! Be assured and confident that I am with you and I am your helper, your partner, and I will meet you exactly where you are at the point of your need. I will not let you down. I will sustain you. I will defend you. I will fortify you. I will complete you and make you whole."
Some of the key words are:
H2388 - châzaq - used for "hold" in the KJV.
It means "to bind or hold fast", but in Hewbrew words that deal with binding relate to the threads of a rope or a bundle of sticks in that they are bound together so tightly that they become one entity or one thing. In addition, it relates to the multiplication of strength.
H3225 - yâmîyn - used for "right hand" in the KJV
It means right side or right hand side, but it's used to refer to power, as biblically, "sitting on the right hand of God" means sitting in the place of the power of God. The picture of this is compiled into the previous key word, so I simply left "right hand side out" of my Conceptual picture.
H559 - 'âmar - used for "saying" in the KJV
It means to say, to call, or to command. I used call and command because of the inflection that God is resolute about the statement and it's not just conversation. It's emphatic. It's forceful. It's very confident.
H5826 - ‛âzar - used for 'help' in the KJV
It means to help or aid, but it's related to the word used in Genesis (H5828 - ‛êzer) for the account of "help meet" for Adam. It truly brings out the picture of equality but even more than that, it's completion. As Adam was incomplete without Eve, so we are incomplete with God. That's the picture behind this one. God meets us on our level, he comes to us as we are... and 'lowers' himself to meet us at that spot... and fills in the gaps... so he completes us. It's powerful if you ponder it long enough...
So those are the key words and they lend themselves to the Concept and Intimate Picture behind the verse.
The English is correct in a word for word translation, but the Hebrew words behind the English bring out a much more vivid picture, revealing God's true feelings and actions... in this passage.
Here's the Conceptual, Intimate Picture again:
For I, YHVH, your God, as we bind and twist ourselves together like the cords of a rope so that we become one in purpose, desire, strength, and power, will hold you up and cause you to be confirmed and strengthened, and to be undaunted, established, and unmovable in your footing, calling out to you and commanding you "Do not tremble or quake with fear! Be assured and confident that I am with you and I am your helper, your partner, and I will meet you exactly where you are at the point of your need. I will not let you down. I will sustain you. I will defend you. I will fortify you. I will complete you and make you whole."
Can you see how much he loves us in this? Can you see the depth of relationship he wants with us and how sold out to us he really is?
