Hi, I'm a 26 year old wife of three years and a proud mother to a beautiful 3 (well he's almost 3) year old little boy.
I grow up believing in God but never was raised in any church. I've always had a love for God and knew I wanted to be in church and be a Christian from an early age. But even after turning 18, I never searched for a home church.
After my son was born, my husband and I had him baptized Catholic because my husband was born and raised Catholic. I then began to attend Mass every Sunday and began the the process of joining the RCC. At first, I loved everything about the RCC and I just "knew" i was at home and this was the right place for me. I've checked out book after book on Catholicism, read up on it online, watched youtube videos on it and I "thought" I knew it all. I didn't question anything, just took the Church word for everything. I was recieved in the church in April 2011. Shortly after joining, I've struggled with many of the Church's doctrines and I was just not at peace anymore. Going to Mass was unfulling. I felt empty and confused.
I had a friend that had earlier (before I ever became a Catholic) share her faith with me (she's an Adventist) and I just couldn't accept what I "thought" the Seventh-day Adventist church was. But after becoming Catholic, I began studying about the Sabbath and other important subjects and I had finlly understood and accepted God's Truth.
I was pretty scared of the changes I would have to make but that didn't hold me back. So four months after being baptized into the RCC, on the day I had planned to make my first confession to the priest, was the day I walked into a Seventh-day Adventist church...and I loved it. Loved how everything was Christ-centered and I could feel close to God. Since then I haven't set a foot back into a Catholic church.
I went to church, but a different one, the next Sabbath, and there is where I found my second home and family. I signed up for Bible study and on March 31, 2012 I was baptized.
My journey was not an easy one. My husband was angry that I left the church, but I was determined to follow God and His Truth so no one was going to hold me back. Although he is fine with me attending my church now, he is still in the catholic church and he says he will always be a Catholic. The only thing I can do is raise our son with the truth, which I know will not be easy. But in the end, it'll all be worth it. I know.
I'm now at peace and at "home" and I'm here to stay.

Not sure how I missed this story earlier. I love it when people share their experiences. Thank you for sharing that and blessing me.

Hello Seventhlove, I am so sorry that I also missed your post, it's inexcuseable. At this late date I would love to welcome you to Club Adventist. Reading your story was so inspiring and I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit led you to a friend who led you to the Bible and Bible truhs, and ino a loving Family of God.
I have a number of people close to me who are Catholics and can not take the leap of faith which you took. I praise God for you.
I shall be watching for your future post and just want to wish you all the Love, Peace & Courage available to you, the daughter of the King of the Universe. :)

It never ceases to amaze me how people can discuss and argue the BIble for a long time and not reach a place of growth or where God can be praised. Then I encounter someone who is touched by the Holy Spirit and it all just falls into place.
Bless your heart!
