But I do have one question for all you history buffs:



Where in the world did the name Belden come from? I thought Ellen's maiden name was Gould.I hope I am not displaying my ignorance here. But I suppose it's not the first time. So, go for it folks. But please be gentle. :)

If I'm not mistaken "Gould" was her middle name? or was it Harmon? or something like that.

Exactly. My brain was clearly not in gear. But still why would her brother have a different name? And while we are speaking of her brother - I didn't even know she HAD a brother.

Yes - Her maiden name was Harmon I believe.

I hope someone will solve the mystery of Ellen White's brother and why he had the name of Stephen Belden. Where did he obtain the name of Belden?
