It is viewed that if a Church Member joins the military he/she is fallen. That one is to join the Lord's Army if he/she has their citizenship in heaven.

Yet in the US there is recruiters who come to our Academies and recruit and it seems to be encourage. Can this be reconciled?

There are some countries in the world where you cannot be a SDA, and a member of the military. You will be expelled, and your membership will be refused if you are a member.

I am aware that in the U. S. A. some SDA schools allow military recruiters to come on school property and recruit for people to join the military.

I consider this to be dangerous when it is done by a Seventh-day Adventist recruiter, as has been done in rare cases.

I consider it to be exceedingly dangerous to allow this when it is done by a non-SDA recruiter.

I am willing to go into SDA Schools and talk to students about the military. I do not tell them what to do, but I give them a dose of reality. I respond to all of their questions. When once a male asked me: Chaplain, do women like men in uniform, my response was: You can purchase sex on the street. You do not have to put the uniform on to obtain it, if that is what you want. That SDA school plans to invite me back again later this year. Both the students and faculty felt that I had done well in addressing the students and the issues that they brought up, as well as giving them information.
