Thinking about Catholics, Pentecostals, Mormons etc Has their been more/less acceptance over the years?

Chaplains do a lot of stuff that is not religious. In the Army, in some ways I did the work of a Social Worker. In this aspect, my religious background was not of interest to a soldier.

In the spiritual area people did not have a problem in comming to me to ask me to faciliate their beleifs and practices.

However, most of the people whom you mentioned woud not see me in strong terms as one to come to for spiritual nurture. e.g They would be unlikely to attend a religous service of mine. They would look to their own faith group. In addition some other groups might also do the same.
