“Service for God will be rewarded. Those who dedicate their lives to His service are promised an invaluable reward” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 4, p. 107).

“For every sacrifice made in His service, there will be a reward—abundant riches of grace” (The Desire of Ages, p. 249).

“Our reward for working with Christ in this world will be greater power and broader privilege to work with Him in the world to come” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 361).

	The Basis for Evaluation

“The value of service to God is measured not by the length of time devoted to labor, but by the spirit in which it was performed” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, p. 74).

“Their success in growing spiritually depends on the increase of the talents entrusted to them. Their future reward corresponds fully to the integrity and earnestness with which they serve the Lord” (Review and Herald, March 1, 1887).

“The Lord has a great work to be done, and in the future life He will give the very best to those who have served Him most faithfully and willingly here in this present life” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 330).

“Those who came into the vineyard at the eleventh hour were grateful for the opportunity to work. Their hearts were full of gratitude to the one who hired them; and when at the end of the day the master paid them for a full day’s work, they were greatly surprised. They knew they had not earned such a reward. The master’s kindness filled them with joy. They would never forget the reward for their labor. So it is with the sinner who, realizing his unworthiness, enters the Master’s vineyard at the eleventh hour. It seems to him that the time left for service is so short that he is unworthy of any significant reward; yet he is filled with joy that God has accepted him at all. He works with trust and humility, grateful for the privilege of being a co-worker with Christ. God is pleased to honor the spirit of such a worker” (Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 397, 398).

	A Certain Reward

“He who has assigned to each a certain work according to his ability will always reward for the faithful discharge of duty. All instances of fidelity and devotion will be marked with special tokens of God’s favor and approval. To every worker is given the promise: ‘They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him’ (Ps. 126:5, 6, KJV)” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 395).

«Even the weakest and most humble can obtain, which even the greatest and wisest may not. The golden gates of heaven do not open to those who exalt themselves. They will not be lifted before the proud in spirit. But the eternal gates will swing wide open in response to the faint touch of a child. Blessed will be the rewards of grace for those who have labored for God in simplicity of faith and love” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 404).

“In this life our work for God may seem almost fruitless. Our efforts to do good may be zealous and persistent, and yet we may not be destined to see their results. It may seem to us that our efforts are wasted. But the Savior assures us: our labor is recorded in heaven, and the reward will not be delayed” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 305).

Life of Society and the Individual

Humanity has imperceptibly, yet rapidly, entered an extremely extreme era of disasters, impending chaos and darkness—an era that can be called “the end of the end of earthly history.”

At the same time, it is an era of the ripening of great ideas of modern history. Everything that human wisdom has produced, everything that for centuries has captivated the minds of entire nations, must now be tested for strength. This is the time of the great final examination of the viability of all philosophical systems, world religions, forms of government, political and economic doctrines—that is, the dominant trends of human society.

The final harvest of world history, of which Jesus Christ spoke, is approaching. “Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe” (Joel 3:13). “And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, ‘Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe’” (Rev. 14:15). “The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels” (Matt. 13:39).

Before our eyes, the ephemeral ideas of communism have been cast into the dust, proving fruitless like the fig tree in Matthew 21.

For a long time, among the Jewish people scattered across all continents, the idea had been ripening of creating a messianic blessed state with its center in Jerusalem, which would lead the whole world. But Zionism, which called the worldwide Jewish diaspora to gather in Israel, revealed its impotence and fruitlessness precisely in the state they created—torn apart by external and internal contradictions.

Arab unity also failed because of Shiites and Sunnis opposing one another, their protracted conflicts escalating into fratricidal wars, as happened recently between Iraq and Iran, between Iraq and Kuwait, and as is observed between Syria and Lebanon.

Today, democratic rights and freedoms demonstrate their integrity in a number of countries in Europe and America. But the era of democratic freedoms is gradually giving way to the approaching era of totalitarian control for the sake of security. Thus, in England, the country of classic European democracy.

Today, before our eyes, the final project of globalization is being implemented, concluding the closing events of earthly history. The imposed idea of unification allegedly arises from the need to protect universal interests of survival in the face of terrorism, as well as looming economic and ecological crises…

The Gospel is Spreading Widely. The Word of God is spreading across all continents and countries, and it is addressed not only to great nations but also to small peoples.

“And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water’” (Rev. 14:6–7).

Today, most people in those countries where the gospel is being preached are faced with a final choice. No one on earth who has heard the gospel message can avoid making a decision on which his eternal destiny depends. And God, for His part, evaluates the behavior of a person who has already heard the Good News quite differently. “And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more” (Luke 12:47–48).

Nations that have heard the gospel message and rejected it fall into a period of hardship and disasters and are subjected to God’s judgments. One need only look at the map of natural disasters that have struck the USA and Europe with particular force in recent years. But not only these countries—other parts of the world are literally shaken by violent blows of the elements.

When the gospel is addressed “to every tribe, tongue, and people,” the whole world faces full responsibility for the path it chooses.

Increase of Knowledge, which the Lord foretold through the prophet Daniel (Dan. 12:4), is occurring in two aspects: improvement…

	Loss of Historical Memory

We began our reflections with the question of the “ripening” of the world community, its entry into a special, concluding phase of world history. Based on a number of rapidly unfolding processes in the world, it can be concluded that an extreme situation has now arisen that no previous generation of earthlings has experienced.

Now the question is legitimate: why does the approaching crisis catch the human community “off guard,” psychologically unprepared to endure the coming changes?

On the eve of humanity’s final test, let us uncover some of the main reasons that have weakened and blinded both the individual and society as a whole. Let us also consider what God is doing to warn and save people from impending destruction.

The loss of historical memory of the origin of the human race is evident. This occurred as a result of rejecting the biblical teaching about the creation of the world and man by God.

The universally accepted theory of the evolutionary development of nature has deprived people of a true understanding of human origin, the highest meaning, and purpose of life. It is no accident that in our time the characteristic definition “lost generation” has appeared.

A kind of “scientific eclipse” began in the mid-19th century. And at the same time, God establishes His Church for the worldwide preaching of the gospel and the proclamation of the three angels’ messages from Revelation 14. The first angel says loudly: “Worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” This is a call to restore the historical memory of the origin of the Earth and the human race, to return to the Bible and unshakably trust what God said in the first chapters of Genesis. It is necessary to believe the entire Word of God, despite mass idolatry adorned with unproven hypotheses. To worship the Creator means to acknowledge…

The Meaning of the Concept “Church”

The original meaning of the word “church” is connected with the ancient Greek word ekklesia, found in New Testament manuscripts, where ek means “from” or “out of,” and klesis means “to call,” or “those who are called.” Therefore, it is quite obvious that the word “church” (ekklesia) points to the action of heavenly power among people, with the purpose of calling (klesis) them out (ek) of the world of sin into the world of the Gospel. Thus, the church represents the highest degree of human privilege and power in the spiritual realm. This is exactly what Jesus had in mind when He announced the establishment of the Church.

	The Church of Our Time

The origins of the appearance of God’s Church in the distant past are astonishing. But what about the present? The prophecies of the biblical book of Revelation unequivocally speak of His Church, which will survive, endure, and stand through all the vicissitudes of fate that have fallen to its lot. Moreover, the book of Revelation reveals to the modern seeker the characteristic features of God’s Church and its destiny for our days.

	Three Messages to Our World

The Lord singled out His Church against the background of religious cacophony by entrusting it with the right to proclaim and convey to the whole world, on His behalf, three special messages described in Revelation chapter 14, verses 6–12. The main content of this message is that God offers humanity, puzzled by global problems, a solution, and it is revealed in the Everlasting Gospel. The essence of the Gospel was most vividly revealed on the Cross of Calvary, where our Savior was crucified more than two thousand years ago. There, on the cross, He as the Lawgiver gave Himself as a sacrifice to redeem people for the law they had broken. There He voluntarily paid for our “righteousness” as sinners, taking upon His account all our vices, and in return, placed His true righteousness upon our account. Therefore, we are alive to this day and have the right to choose: to accept this substitutionary sacrifice of the Savior as the greatest fact of history or not.

	The Birth of Christ’s Church

This event occurred on the Day of Pentecost (the fiftieth day after the resurrection of Jesus Christ), when, as the Gospel says, the Holy Spirit descended on the followers of Jesus. In reality, this was the return of the Great Teacher to His disciples through the Holy Spirit. Jesus had spoken of this earlier: “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.”

The Day of Pentecost is the meeting place of promise and fulfillment. What Jesus spoke of then happened. What an amazing blessing it is to know that with the coming of the Holy Spirit on that day is connected the formation of the Church as a historical reality. It was the transformation of timid, confused, and disappointed disciples into bold evangelists, able to persuade by the power of word and Spirit. It was the conversion of many mockers and opponents of Christ into His supporters. It was the endowment of amazing joy, love, and unity to a multitude of people who had previously been strangers to one another. It was the building of a community of people dwelling in a conscious union of faith with one another and with Christ. All this came with the appearance of Christ’s Church.

The Historical Mission of the Church

The mighty power of the Holy Spirit and the love of Christ in the stream of life of God’s followers were directed into the sinful world for its renewal. Over time, this stream expands, watering the fallen world with the dew of the preaching of the Gospel. People of all races, nations, and classes are called to join the living, breathing organism—the Church—which is filled with faith and a passion to save. This is the greatest fact of human history.

	Final Thought from the Document

God is waiting for our decisions. Realizing ourselves as God’s children, we must return to the Father like the prodigal son, “so as no longer to feed swine at the philosophers’” (H. Heine, “Deathbed Confession”).

There is plenty of “food for thought.” God is waiting for our decisions.
During the 1860s many Chinese men were selling themselves into indentured servitude to British colonies in South America. These men, called “coolies,” were transported to the other side of the world and would work for 5-7 years to pay off the cost of their emigration before they could earn their freedom. Lough saw this as an open door to share the gospel. He sold himself as a coolie, a laborer on a plantation, to be able to evangelize his own people who were moving to South America. He began sharing the gospel on his ship and continued it when he arrived. He started the very first Baptist church in South America, led worship services and taught the Christian disciplines that he had been taught by Gaillard. Many believed. Four different congregations were formed from these believers who all exercised a disciplined faith in living holy lives and spreading the gospel themselves. At Lough’s death there were 200 Christians in his congregations, who gave more than $2,000 each year to missions and actually sent missionaries from among themselves back to China. Lough fook died at the early age of 43. He had come to Christ at age 16, and was a faithful servant of the Lord for 27 years.

Someone here responded to a confession/admitting post of mine on my timeline. It was healing in that it acknowledged how I felt, end of subject. I don't know if I should say who you are or not. 3 people responded and I appreciated the caring, but number 3...

There is something about acknowledging what another person is feeling without advising, preaching, any of the other mumbo jumbo we do to each other that is really a form of killing. I try not to do it, but I am sure I slip and kill someone with my responses also.

I didn't mention your name as I didn't know how you would feel about that but you know who are. "Duct tape" was pretty good, tho I do try to let God destroy. Guess I haven't quite got to the root yet. God willing with time cause He has given the promises that He will work in me both to will and to do of His good pleasure, and He will finish the good work He has begun in me.

I think you and He has made my b-day one of the best I've had considering my circumstances.

Once upon a time there was a boy living in a remote village in a foreign country where poverty was so prevalent that even policemen went barefooted, and so did children from poor families. Little Daniel’s father was having a hard time providing for his wife and child, for which reason he decided to cross the border to a neighboring country with the hope of securing employment. He promised his wife that he would send her money as soon as possible. Time went by, and a month later the woman received the bad news that her husband had been involved in an accident and was in a government hospital recovering from his injuries.

Then came Christmas Eve, and the local church had scheduled a Christmas program for the village dwellers. Danny’s mother was not feeling well, so he asked his mom permission to go to the Christmas program with a neighbor family, and she agreed. Danny took with him a little toy truck which he had inherited from a friend the previous Christmas season. It had seen better days, one wheel was missing, the original shiny paint had faded, and the dirt was showing where the paint was missing; nevertheless, it was the only toy little Danny had, and it went whenever he went.

The Christmas program went quite well, and everybody was in good spirits. Towards the end of the religious service, the pastor made an appeal. He reminded his parishioners that they were celebrating Jesus’ birthday and encouraged the people to offer a gift for the baby that had been born in Bethlehem two thousand years before. As the deacons started collecting the offering, Danny wanted to show somehow that he was grateful for what Jesus had done for him, but he had no money, not even a dime. His only possession was his old, dilapidated and dirty little toy truck. It took a real struggle, but as the plate came near where he was seated he made the resolve to give to Jesus his cherished possession.

When the deacons got together to count the money, they noticed the little toy truck, and one of them remarked: “I wonder who did this! I don’t understand how in the world someone attempted to desecrate this offering by putting in the offering basket this old, broken and dirty toy truck. Didn’t the person know where the trash can is? Nevertheless, another deacon who had seen the boy placing the toy in the offering basket responded: “That offering was from Danny. I visited the family a few days ago. They live in a thatched roof hut with a dirt floor. Her husband is ill in a foreign country. As far as I am concerned this is the most valuable offering we have received this evening.”

“I know what I will do: I will write up the story of what transpired here this evening, send it to the local paper, and put the little toy truck on E-bay for sale.” He did, and a rich man, who had read the newspaper Christmas story, purchased the item for the equivalent of around one thousand dollars. Thus, the dirty, broken, and dilapidated toy truck became the most valuable offering collected said Christmas Eve.

	God's Way

If you search the internet right now, you can find a ton of relationship advice on how a man should treat a woman. But what this advice tends to lack is the importance of God in our relationship decision-making. Gentleman –when you allow our Heavenly Father to influence your relationship, true love follows. When it comes to love, the Bible is mostly filled with wisdom for husbands and wives, many of these same principles can be applied for singles on their relationship journey. If you want a relationship with a woman that is respectful and glorifies God, allow Him to guide you. Here are six ways a man should treat a woman, according to God’s Word.

This devotional e-mail was in my inbox today. It is very encouraging and an answer to prayers and perplexities that I am currently dealing with as I desire to understand or to at least know or have a better idea of God's will in my life. How could it possibly be more appropriate? Praise God!

Things Thou Knowest Not

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jer. 33:3.

We do not always consider that the sanctification we so earnestly desire and for which we pray so earnestly is brought about through the truth and, by the providence of God, in a manner we least expect. When we look for joy, behold there is sorrow. When we expect peace, we frequently have distrust and doubt because we find ourselves plunged into trials we cannot avoid. In these trials we are having the answers to our prayers. In order for us to be purified, the fire of affliction must kindle upon us, and our will must be brought into conformity to the will of God. In order to be conformed to the image of our Saviour, we pass through a most painful process of refining. The very ones that we regard the most dear upon the earth may cause us the greatest sorrow and trial. They may view us in the wrong light. They may think us in error, and that we are deceiving and degrading ourselves because we follow the dictates of enlightened conscience in seeking for the truth as for hid treasures. . . .

Our prayers for conformity to the image of Christ may not be answered exactly as we desire. We may be tested and proved, for God sees it best to put us under a course of discipline which is essential for us before we are fit subjects for the blessing we crave. We should not become discouraged and give way to doubt, and think that our prayers are not noticed. We should rely more securely upon Christ and leave our case with God to answer our prayers in His own way. God has not promised to bestow His blessings through the channels we have marked out. God is too wise to err and too regardful of our good to allow us to choose for ourselves.

The plans of God are always the best, although we may not always discern them. Perfection of Christian character can be obtained only through labor, conflict, and self-denial. . . .

How inestimably precious are the gifts of God—the graces of His Spirit—and we shall not shrink from the trying, testing process, be it ever so painful or humiliating to us. How easy would be the way to heaven if there were no self-denial or cross! How worldlings would rush in the way, and hypocrites would travel in it without number! Thank God for the cross, the self-denial. The ignominy and shame our Saviour endured for us is none too humiliating for those saved by the purchase of His blood. Heaven will indeed be cheap enough.

But what I really wanted to tell you is that my boy's "bug" came in second for the Adventurer boys in the whole state!!! Yay! The children were given a kit to put together to make little bugs that would race down a board. They were allowed to do anything they wanted with the parts, as long as the bug didn't weight more than 3 ounces. After four heats,Sonny came in second! He was very excited, especially since he won a remote-controlled truck. Jesus loves ALL the little children, even the special-needs child.
