    SDA Challenges

As Pastor Matthews surmised - Historic Creedal Christians would want to explore the following bullet points. & I'd agree that the prophecy about Nineveh's destruction was conditional in that the outcome was determinate on what the people in Nineveh did (i.e. if they straightened up they would survive - if they didn't, well......) Christ however is a different story as this was not a conditional prophecy & here is why I say this. Isaiah 35, 4 said that God Himself would come and save us and given that Christ Himself stated that Isaiah 35 was speaking of Him even skeptical folks would have to conclude at the minimum that Jesus believed He was "God". Past this Jesus explicitly stated that His words would not pass away in Matthew 24, 35. Jesus is even more forceful with this same concept in Mark 13, 31. If Jesus is "God" and according to Isaiah 55, 10-11 God's word will never return void a Creedal Trinitarian when reading that part of the Creed which speaks of Christ's coming, death and resurrection was all "according to the Scriptures" it triggers a certain confirmation when reading the following types of statements Jesus made prior to His death. Matthew 7, 22: "Many will say to Me on that day" Matthew 16, 27-28: "Son of man will come with His angels" Matthew 19, 28: "When the Son of Man is seated on His throne". In Matthew 16, 21 - the Scriptures explicitly state that Jesus explained to His Disciples that He HAD TO go to Jerusalem and suffer many things & also be killed and on the 3rd day rise from the dead. If God's word never returns void and Jesus is God Almighty in human flesh Jesus has clearly said His words would never pass away and I've found 105 Scriptures in the Gospels alone which state the types of things I've quoted above. These are Jesus' own "words" and I would suggest that to insert a hypothetical situation whereas God's word could return to God VOID is an admission that Christ was really speaking out of turn when He made all these statements about what was for certain going to happen. Luke 24, 25- 27 comes to mind here. I would urge anyone to read this Scripture. The Nicene Creed and Apostles Creed are BIG DEALS to Creedal Christians as Creedal Christians believe that these Creeds systematize Sacred Scripture. By this I mean to say that the Creeds take truths from Scripture and put them into a formula that's easy to remember. Everything written in the Creed can be explained in the same manner I've explained why I believe the hypothetical situation promulgated by the SDA Pioneers and Ellen White about the possibility of Jesus sinning and loosing His salvation is not only impossible but heretical. I see many bullet points in this article that are likely worthy of discussion by SDA's and I look forward to hearing what people think about them. Interesting stuff.

  12. Guilty: Trump becomes first former US president convicted of felony crimes NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump became the first former American president to be convicted of felony crimes Thursday as a New York jury found him guilty of all 34 charges in a scheme to illegally influence the 2016 election through a hush money payment to a porn actor who said the two had sex. https://apnews.com/article/trump-trial-deliberations-jury-testimony-verdict-85558c6d08efb434d05b694364470aa0? 🗳️ It's all about November now A scowling Donald Trump, now a convicted felon, told reporters today that the "real verdict" for him "is going to be Nov. 5, by the people." That's one of the few things that Trump and President Biden agreed on in the hour after Trump's historic conviction on 34 felony counts: Voters will deliver the final judgment on Trump on Election Day. Even as Trump supporters vowed retribution while Biden's tried to stifle their satisfaction with mixed results, both candidates downplayed a watershed moment in U.S. history: A former U.S. president convicted of a felony by a jury of his peers, while trying to win back the White House. "Today's verdict does not change the fact that the American people face a simple reality. There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box," said Michael Tyler, communications director for the Biden campaign. Trump's conviction added a host of unknowns and "never-befores" to a campaign that already was full of them. His sentencing is scheduled for July 11 — four days before the start of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. He could receive a few years in prison. But even if he's sentenced to do time, that wouldn't happen until his appeals were exhausted. The day felt momentous, but many Democrats, as well as the Biden campaign, are convinced the vast majority of voters already have formed their opinions on Trump. The country is deeply divided, with warring political tribes choosing their own news sources and information feeds — their own realities. Bolstering the view that most Americans are living in partisan, parallel universes: Trump retained a slight lead in the polls during the trial even as embarrassing details about his alleged sexual encounter with a porn star were laid bare in the Manhattan courtroom. The question bedeviling both campaigns is whether attaching "convicted felon" to Trump's name will change the minds of many independent voters and even some Republicans, as several polls have suggested. Overnight polls might give an early indication, but pollsters like to survey voters over several days to get a more accurate sample. A Quinnipiac survey last week found that about 23% of independents said a guilty verdict would make them less likely to vote for Trump, compared to 11% who say it would make them more likely to back him. Another thing to watch: Trump's GOP is famously loyal to him, including when it has come to casting him as a victim of America's judicial system. Now many Republican candidates for office will be put in a position of trashing that system to defend Trump. Between the lines: Those in Biden's campaign aren't exactly ignoring the verdict. But they are trying to use it to focus voters on what they think are Trump's bigger vulnerabilities. "The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater," Tyler said in the campaign statement. "He is running an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retribution, pledging to be a dictator 'on day one' and calling for our Constitution to be 'terminated' so he can regain and keep power." In a post on Truth Social late today, Trump was succinct: "VICTORY ON NOVEMBER 5TH. SAVE AMERICA!!!" Read more ⚖️ Trump's charges, by action By Erin Doherty and Alice Feng Table: Alice Feng/Axios 💥 Pro-Trump right erupts By Stef W. Kight, Stephen Neukam and Juliegrace Brufke House Speaker Mike Johnson and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy listen as former President Trump talks with reporters. Photo: Justin Lane/Pool via Getty Images Republican leaders quickly rallied around Trump after he was found guilty of falsifying business records to cover up a hush-money payment that amounted to a campaign contribution. GOP congressional leaders attacked the "weaponizing" of the justice system and decried the decision as "corrupt" and a "sham" — and expressed confidence that it would boost their chances of victory in November. "President Trump will rightfully appeal this absurd verdict — and he WILL WIN," House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said in a statement, calling it a "shameful day in American history." "Democrats just pulled off the biggest sham in U.S. history," said House Republican Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) "This verdict will not withstand an appeal, and was only brought as an attempt to interfere with the 2024 election," said Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.). "The voters will settle this on Nov. 5." "Now more than ever, we need to rally around [Trump], take back the White House and Senate, and get this country back on track. The real verdict will be Election Day," Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), who is running for GOP leader, said on X. While many of Trump's usual defenders were quick to dismiss the conviction, others were slower to respond. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who has long battled with Trump, has been silent so far. Ahead of the decision, former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, now running for Senate, urged "all Americans to respect the verdict and the legal process" regardless of the result. What to watch: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) suggested Trump's conviction sets a dangerous precedent of prosecuting ex-presidents. "Two can play this game," he said.

  16. Billionaire dam breaks A flood of elite GOP donors have come off the sidelines in recent weeks in support of former President Trump, who continues to await a verdict on Day 2 of jury deliberations. Why it matters: Trump is rapidly closing his fundraising gap with President Biden. Billionaires — including some who were once skeptical of Trump's chances in 2024 — are playing a huge role. The latest is casino magnate Miriam Adelson, who plans to pour millions into reviving the pro-Trump super PAC Preserve America, Politico reports. Adelson and her late husband, Las Vegas Sands founder Sheldon Adelson, were Trump's biggest donors in 2020 — contributing $90 million to Preserve America. The big picture: Trump's mega-donors defected in droves after Jan. 6 and Republicans' abysmal performance in the 2022 midterms. Many are now returning. Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman told Axios last week that he would support and donate to Trump after previously calling for "a new generation of leaders." Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman, who has crusaded against DEI policies and antisemitism on college campuses, is likely to endorse Trump as well, the Financial Times reported today Activist investor Nelson Peltz, who said he regretted voting for Trump after the Capitol attack, hosted the former president at his Florida mansion in March. What to watch: Billionaire Ken Griffin, one of the Republican Party's top donors, says he's waiting to see who Trump picks as his running mate before breaking out his checkbook.

    Roblox

Roblox is a major Silicon Valley company that teaches children how to use a proprietary software program to write a computer game that is hosted on Roblox Internationally, and others living around the world can then play the game free of charge. All of this, the teaching and hosting of the game Internationally is free of any charges to the person who designed the game. In that process, Roblox teaches the student how to generate income which is then split with Roblox. The following website tells the story of an 8-year-old girl who wrote her first game that was posted by Roblox. Her first commission netted her 2-cents. Now, she is 22 and earning $100,000 a year from Roblox. I have advised the Church as to how Roblox could be used in the mission that God has given us. Cricket's T20 World Cup is almost here USA's Ali Khan and Monank Patel will compete in the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup's first match this weekend at Grand Prairie Stadium. Photo: Robert Cianflone/Getty Images One of the largest tournaments for one of the world's biggest sports will go to bat Saturday in Grand Prairie. Why it matters: This is the Men's T20 World Cup's first time in the U.S., and Grand Prairie Stadium will host the first match. The International Cricket Council chose Grand Prairie for the match because "Texas is iconically U.S.," T20 USA CEO Brett Jones tells Axios. The big picture: This is a milestone for the U.S. — the bid for host country took years of lobbying and professionalizing cricket. The West Indies, in the Caribbean, is a co-host. Global viewership is expected to be in the billions on digital, social and broadcast platforms, Jones says. Zoom in: Grand Prairie is hosting the first match — the U.S. vs. Canada on Saturday — and three other matches. The stadium has capacity for 7,000 to 8,000 spectators. Investors converted a dormant minor league baseball stadium into the cricket stadium last year, hoping to make the sport more mainstream in the U.S. Cricket legends will likely visit North Texas to attend matches and meet fans. There are also international media deals, sponsorships and thousands of fans traveling for the matches. Zoom out: The most anticipated matchup, Pakistan vs. India, will be in New York. Hundreds of millions of fans are expected to tune in. Resale tickets for Pakistan-India are over $900 each. By comparison, tickets for Saturday's match in Grand Prairie start at $125. Expanding the fan base 🏏 How to watch the World Cup Illustration: Sarah Grillo/Axios The T20 World Cup is June 1-29, with matches in the U.S. and West Indies. The intrigue: Many matches are during the day to accommodate international viewers in other time zones. How it works: T20 is a condensed format of cricket, taking only a few hours instead of a full day or multiple days. Twenty countries are competing. There will be 40 matches to decide the Super Eight countries, which will be whittled to the final two World Cup contenders. How to watch: Tickets for the four Grand Prairie matches, start around $125. The matches will be broadcast on WillowTV in the U.S. and Canada. EpicCentral in Grand Prairie will host watch parties throughout the tournament. Sheesh Eatery, in The Colony, is also planning a watch party for the Pakistan vs. India game June 9. Plus: The ICC is hosting a World Cup kickoff party tomorrow at EpicCentral, with a DJ, vendors and cricket equipment to try out. Worthy of your time: AP has this guide to cricket.
