Administrators Gail Posted August 28, 2009 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2009 How likely are you to read something written by an author of another persuasion as you, whether be it different faith, political philosophy or lifestyle? Members phkrause
I have Gail, I've read a book autobiography of Rosey O'Donnell. I used to like her, but the more I see and hear her, the less I like her. But I did enjoy her book very much. I've read many non-adventist christian authors, like Max Lucado, Francis Schaeffer, Liz Curtis Higgs, Kathleen Norris, Philip Yancey, etc. I enjoy there books very much, but I'm always aware of the doctural difference's we have with them. But each one loves the Lord. pk Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Guest
How likely are you to read something written by an author of another persuasion as you, whether be it different faith, political philosophy or lifestyle? Not much anymore. I used to read everything, but now there is too much truth and good things to be read to waste my time reading nonsense and garbage, that won't help me grow spiritually. I did just order a book by a non Adventist though. It's called: "Experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ" it's by a french lady named Guyon I think. I read the first few pages of it at Amazon.com and liked it. I think it will be good. I used to like spy novels.
