tribeofjudah
Friends in Christ, My wife and I have both become unemployed just this year. We are actively seeking employment but it's been tough sledding. Condo in underwater and bills are stacking up. Despite this, our Faith is not shaken and we continue to be faithful in tithe giving. Please pray for us (JA family in southern CA) May I also get some advice from my friends. Our health insurance will end Oct. 31 and we will not have coverage....we have a son under 2 yrs old. Cobra just does not make financial sense. Does anyone know where I might get medical coverage at a reduced price for my family of 3...? Thank you in advance for your prayers. WE believe that God already had an answer for us before this situation began. Sincerely, JA
AutumnStar
i will put your matter in my daily prayer. I am now listening to ''He Knows My Name'' by Maranatha Singers while I am writing this. It's worth listening
Members phkrause
Will definitely keep you in our prays. I also lost my job, in Feb of '08. I had just turned 60 the previous sept. I spent 2 years on unemployment, sending out many applications and resume's, plus going to all the local print shops to apply, etc. No one wanted an experienced prepress specialist, who they would have to pay much more than just hiring an individual off the street, and training them. We went through all my 401 and roth ira accounts to keep up with our mortgage and bills. The recession of '07 also took 1/3 of my employee savings and I used the rest to help with my bills, etc. I was to proud to go to get any state help, etc. Well after my wife hurt her back in '10, just after my unemployment ran out, we went without any income for about 3 months. We finally filed for bankruptcy(sp). The house went into foreclosure, etc. But God has kept us through all that. We now only have our SSI benefits, and have moved back to Massachusetts to help, or should I say be the foster parents of our two grandchildren, because the state has taken them from my daughter. God has been with us the whole time. All I can say at this time is praise the Lord for welfare. So I would say to go to your local state aid building and check and see all the service's that you have a right to.You have been paying that for all the years you've been working, this is what taxes go for, besides other things as well. I know the system is has its problems, but its there for you and anyone else that is really in need. Its umilliating(sp), at least for us it was, but when your church can't help, than you have to go somewhere. Alsomaybe you have a person at your church can help in this regard. I would definitely check into it. If we can be of any other help just let me know. Because we know exactly what its like to be almost homeless.Again thank the Lord for federal and state aid programs that are made for just this purpose. Will be praying for you and your family. Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

JoeMo
tribeof judah, I will be praying. In the past 10 years, I have been in your situation twice. Like pkrause, I had just turned 60 (with 2 teenage daughters still living at home)the last time it happened. As tough as it was, on both occurences, I kept claiming the promises of God every day as I sat in front of my computer making job applications and fighting despair and discouragement. I applied for unemployment; and was receiving about 1/4 of my usual pay. I went without insurance, because I had too much equity in my house and/or savings to get Medicaid (maybe you qualify for medicaid!) Both times - right when my money ran completely dry (the first time within a week of losing my home), I got a job. Both times it was for less pay; but it was enough to cover my bills. Pray for and trust God for a miracle. When I was offered my current job, I had not even been called for an interview in 4 months. I kept praying; and God kept giving me just enough faith and energy to keep on keeping on. One day, I got a request for 2 interviews with the same company! Within a week, I was offered both jobs! God made me wait on Him, but when He came through, he exceeded my expectations! He can do the same for your family, brother! Never give up on Him; and never give up on yourself! tribeofjudah
I will never give up on MY LORD. HE didn't give up on me and gave his life to save me. I think about Job and his trials. I believe HE is trying to make me an empty vessel so that He can pour his image into my life. I praise the LORD always. He is lifting me up to Higher Ground. Woody
Does Jesus Care - when my heart is pained - too deeply for mirth or song? As the burdens press, and the cares distress, And the way grows weary and long? OH YES He cares - I KNOW He cares - His heart is touched with my grief. WHen the days are weary, the long nights dreary - I KNOW my Saviour cares. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Administrators Gail Posted October 5, 2012 Administrators Share Posted October 5, 2012 tribeofjudah, you have my prayers as well. I've just written your request in my prayer journal and will remember your family continually. "Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." It says in Psalm 37 that the writer was old and since he was young he had never seen the righteous forsaken nor his children begging bread. I claim that as a promise for you and know that the Lord is good. Jesus said that we should pray for our daily bread. God is faithful. I know by experience, too- I have a story similar to pkrause's and JoeMo's. I thank God for a welfare system. The only trouble is that here in BC, where Social Services is provincially governed, self-employed families are not entitled to welfare. So when we were at our very worst and I went in finally to apply for welfare, I was able to collect once and then was refused. Talk about heartbreaking for a mother of young children! But the story has a good ending, praise God! Our church family helped us through. My family pitched in (Mom and Dad), food banks and somehow we got over that hump. God always provided for our daily needs Hubby did the bankruptcy thing, too, but it all worked out for good as the promise in Rom.8:28 says. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

JoeMo
Gail and Woody, Father God, We come befor you on behalf of tribofjudah and His family, asking in Jesus Name for: POWER to write impressive resumes and have incredible interviews; for FAVOR with proscpective employers, that they will relate to him and see his value as an emplyee; for WISDOM that he will choose a career that will work for him long-term; for PROSPERITY that his new job will bring him more than enough money to bless the family, the church, and other in need; for TIMELINESS that these prayers be answered soon, so tribeofjudah and his family can experience the blessing You have in store for them without the pain, stress, and temptation of the evil one. and for a MIRACULOUS SIGN to shoe tribeofjudah and his family that - without a doubt - you are actively working for them. Thanks you for answering this prayer, Father! Amen

Administrators Naomi Posted October 5, 2012 Administrators Share Posted October 5, 2012 tribeofjudah, you have my empathy and concern. Having been in your situation more than once as a single parent with no child support and no job life, I understand how very stressful it can become.. I do hope the social services system can help you. As it has been mentioned, food banks are relatively easy to locate today ... at least in my location, and there are other programs for young children which includes medical. What I can tell you is that every time I thought there was no hope, everything turned around. Keep doing what you are doing, sending out resumes, praying trusting in God ... and seeking all the advice and assistance possible. As the old saying goes, "It's always darkest before the dawn." At times such as this we often have to think outside the box. You will get through this! Hang in there my brother. tribeofjudah
I didn't see this 2nd page........wow, thanks so much church family. I am grateful to your prayers and heartfelt concerns. Bankruptcy seems very embarrassing but it is there for a reason. The Bible also touches on something similar, like cleansing the land after 7 years, and letting go servant/slave after 7 years. May God forgive me if I've contributed to my situation by not begin a GOOD steward of the money HE has given me. I know I have my flaws (combined with ballooning costs, and losing job).. it was a recipe for disaster. BUT I come before the Throne of God, just as I am, to plead my case and to ask for in Love, Forgiveness, and Help in these times of trouble. So that there would be no one getting out of hand. Its to bad that the Israelites didn't do this for to long. As a matter of fact in Israel today, in some areas, they have gone back to the sabbatical years for growing there fields, and it has been working really well. Tough times will soon pass (like a blade of steel going through fire, water, and the hammer and anvil). Short sale of the condo will soon be done. Sad to lose it, but I know GOD has better plans for me just around the corner. Thank you all for sharing your faith and for your prayers. with Love, Mom, Dad, and baby boy.
