Administrators Gail Posted August 9, 2007 Administrators Share Posted August 9, 2007 I would like to request that you remember my husband Rusty in your prayers for his surgery tomorrow morning (11:30 PST) He is having 4 teeth extracted. Not serious, except for this is the catch: Because he has had radiation treatment for cancer many years ago, the doctors are afraid now that his jawbone may collapse with this surgery. Russ has been undergoing oxygen treatments in a hyperbaric chamber for the last 4 weeks, hoping to feed the area before they go in. Yesterday in the tank he was in with 3 other men who have the same problem as he, but who have had the surgery already. One of them had trouble with his jaw giving way and now is fitted with 2 metal plates. Russ is apprehensive, and with good reason. The radiation treatment that he had so long ago saved his life from the cancer, but now, 20 years later, is responsible for this and the doctors feel that it is also a factor in his stroke he had a year ago. Will let you know how it goes Thanks!! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Moderators LynnDel Posted August 11, 2007 Moderators Share Posted August 11, 2007 I am reading this now on August 10, after the fact, but I am praying anyway for a quick recovery, and know that "before they call, I will answer." Administrators Gail Posted August 11, 2007 Author Administrators Share Posted August 11, 2007 Thank you for all the prayers! Russ is home and healing up nicely. The surgeon expected that he would have to chop up some of the teeth in order to remove them but that wasn't necessary. There was some infection, though, so he will remain on antibiotics for a while. Couldn't have gone smoother! Thanks so much and I praise the Lord for His strength and healing mercy! puddles
Glad to hear Russ is doing well Gail. Sorry I've not been around much for the past several weeks. Between vacations with visiting relatives, trying to get our roof put on and VBS...I'm a very tuckered little puddle. Blessings and Happy Sabbath!!
