D. Allan
Quote: "The trick is distinguishing between versions of a gene that have spread by chance and those that have spread because they confer an advantage. To use a hypothetical example, 40 per cent of people might have the gene for hairy feet because our hunter-gatherer ancestors with hairy feet were less likely to freeze to death at night. On the other hand, people with hairy feet might have been no more or less likely to leave descendants. In this case, the gene could have reached the 40 per cent level by chance alone - a process known as genetic drift." found at http://www.newscientist.com/channel/life/evolution/dn2908 That means its just chance unless there is some advantage to having hairy feet. Do you find hairy feet attractive? (on men?) Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Amelia
Oh, I love hair on men. hehehe But the hair on my feet don't keep them warm at night. And what if one doesn't believe in evolution? Amelia
I wonder if we will have hairy bits in heaven? Anthony!
I suppose this begs the question, things that show evidence for the argument for evolution in our bodies: Why do we have hair follicles all over our bodies? What is the purpose of ancillary and pubic hair? If God's design is perfect for an Edenic existence then why do we have a digestive system which excretes a biohazard waste? How did they handle feces in Eden? Indeed, we are as zoologist Desmond Morris said, The Naked Ape.
Members rudywoofs (Pam)
A little bit off-topic, but about hair: The Attitude of Three Hairs =========================== There was once a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. "Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today," so she did and she had a wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw she had only two hairs on her head. "HMM," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today," and she did and she had a grand day. The next morning she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw she had only one hair left on her head. "Well," she said, "Today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did and it was a fun, fun day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head. "YEAH!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!" Remember you may not be able to control what someone says or does or some of the situations that life throws you, but you can sure control the way you react. ~Author Unknown~ Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
