Oh, Idunno.....I don't think I would give everyone a million dollars....however, if I had 50 million, I might consider 5 k for each user on the board.... Afterall, a little windfall, should be spread around to everyone... That shouldn't change everyones destiny, do you think? Amelia
Hummm not accepting monies derived from gambling. OK, what about all the highways, parks, buildings, schools etc etc etc; that profit from the monies derived by gambling? Would you partake of that too? Or stop driving on the highways. Stop going to the parks. Never entering a building or a school again? How far do you take the "I will not touch filthy lucre" stance? CyberGuy
314 Million. Peanuts. The mega million jackpot in California was 330 million last night and there were no winners of the jackpot last night. Now that is a large hunk of change. However the jackpot is down to 12 million today So I have to think since their was no winner last night there is a cap where the jackpot is turned over to the schools. LifeHiscost
I think there are plenty of winners out there that we don't know about, I agree wholeheartedly. I know sometimes I get very tied up in viewing the downside of humanity and fail to remember that Jesus is living His life in many individuals in the body of Christ, as well as those who are in the valley of decision as to whom they wish to serve for eternity. This is not always so much because they don't know for sure Who they wish to follow but they have yet to meet Him in the person of His disciples. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35 NASB "After these things I saw, and lo, a great multitude, which to number no one was able, out of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands" Revelation 7:9 YLT Blessings! CyberGuy
I heard that many of those who win the lottery are bankrupt in a few years as they spend more than they can afford and grow acustomed to the high spending. Also families end up fighting over the money as family believe that they will get a share of that money or deserve a share. It splits families down the middle. Money that comes into ones hands that is unearned is a CURSE in most cases. It causes more grief that the joys it brings. If it all gets mixed up in the government revenue from all sources, of course you can't separate it out. Besides, it's probably the only way the government can ensure that the gamblers' money is not totally flushed down the toilet and they get at least a little beneficial return from it. But that's quite different from belonging to a church or religious group that specifically disapproves of gambling, and then coming to your church leaders with a donation and informing them, "Here's $_____ for the church. I won it in the lottery." aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music?
