puddles
I would greatly appreciate your prayers on behalf of my mother. She suffered a heart attack back this past August and ended up with having 3 stents put in. Tonight she called me with her BP being high. I went over and stayed with her a while and it did start coming down (praise the Lord). I have been in contact with her doctor and while he (on the surface) doesn't appear to be phased by this, I know he is concerned. I also would appreciate your prayers for travelling mercies for my brother who will be driving up to spend new years with my mother as well as her birthday (Jan 1). And, for my nerves...I am feeling a bit out of sorts myself. My mother in law passed away earlier this month and I think I'm finally starting to "feel" it... Thank you! Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted December 28, 2007 Moderators Share Posted December 28, 2007 Puddles, I'll be praying for your mother too. But the blood pressure thing is something that CAN be controlled. I had my 96-year-old auntie here with me for Christmas, and she took a very bad fall on my stairs yesterday. Took her to the ER and she was there all day while they sewed her up. But the reason I'm mentioning this is because her BP went up to 220/100 after the fall. While she was in the ER lying quietly, and resting, the BP came down, but only down to 200/98 or so. So the ER doctor ordered an IV medication which they gave her, and finally, after 5 hours or so, her BP started coming down. It finally got down to a "safe" range [150/75 or so]. But what I wanted to say is, there ARE medications available to help your mom get her BP down. And if the condition isn't fixed by taking pills, then injections are available. You just need to be persistent. Ask for a referral to a cardiologist! You don't want your mom having a stroke or something else serious as a result of high BP.
