What happen to Calvin?

My icon had to change due to the fact that Calvin disappeared...Where did Calvin go? Elmo is cute, but I want my zany Calvin, if I could...Could I, would you....May I...have Calvin back?

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

calvin28.jpgThis has promise.....Wish it was color....

3768874955.jpg Others might think that Tom and I are making a dance everytime we enter a thread...

3085225583-1.jpg Not sure that I want this one.....too...cuddly...cute...I am NOT cute in that way....

2463756529.jpg I don't know about this one...it has appeal... but everyone might feel that I am kicking them in the ...well, gluteous maximus....

2235501374.jpg Too deviant....it's appealing though...not sure the girls of the board would appreciate it though...

2133607047.jpg I am afraid that everyone will think that Tom and I were conspiring together.....

2132801767.jpg Now this one, ...Tom might appreciate this one....And it says that I don't care what YOU have to say....Better not...

I love these...but they don't have that right quality....appreciate the gesture though....

Perhaps I can get this put in for my Avatar?

20365578063Calvin%208.gif Still, I miss my exasperated Calvin....

20125178063Calvin2.jpg Of course, I could use this with some of the things said around here.....

20382878063Calvin%209.gif Then, when ever I mess with Redwood and David, I could use this one.....Can't use it with Planey, though.....

Ahhh, I see you have done the deed. Back to Calvin. And here I thought we had a kinder, gentler Neil . . . the reformed, Elmo version.

Oh yeah! Dance to the music... even if it is to the beat of a different drummer!

Oh come on, just a little hug... But seriously, it is so out of character for both Calvin and Hobbes and us...

And we certainly don't want to give the conspiracy theorists hereabouts any more fuel for their overactive imaginations... or do we?

Calvin knows Hobbes too well! I really do appreciate this one! As they say, you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose...

I for one am glad to see Calvin back!

REFORMED verson?!?!?!?!?

ME? REFORMED????????

Just what drugs are you on????

My goodness....this ol' boy, reformed....NOW if ever there's a case where the land WAY down under ever froze over.....

Oh, fyi, the mysterious Calvin avatar that decided to walk off, mysteriously came back...and I did nothing but ask where it wandered off to.....To the one who held the leash on my Calvin, thank you.....

Neil...so glad you have reclaimed Calvin. While I personally must agree that Elmo worked wonderfully in the interim, I do believe you indeed are a "calvinist at heart"... llama

:) Perhaps a fitting, if not oddly bizarre, Hobbesian twist to this whole topic - Neil as the 16th Century French Reformation theologian...

Truthful bit of trivia - Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin and Hobbes, did in fact name the pair after John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes, the 17th Century English political philosopher.

NEIL!!!!!! Just when a ray of hope was peeping over the horizon. Just when it appeared--or so it APPEARED--that we were seeing a different Neil--a kinder, gentler Neil. A Neil who the ladies would appreciate because he was--WAS so thoughtful and considerate. A Neil who had learned--albeit perhaps in the hard school of life--to be more compliant, to be teachable. But now, the truth comes out--or should I say, mebbe Ol' Neil done backslid. Back to his old ways. Out with the new, in with the old. Ahhh, so. But its still not too late. There is hope, even yet . . .

Indeed? The well-heeled, elitist, CONSERVATIVE, rule-making and enforcing CALVIN as the avatar for the NEW Neil? Now that would be the greatest upheaval in the history of this forum, at the very least. But who knows? Maybe--just MAYBE . . .

I should like to point out that the elitist, Conservative Calvin--the 'new Neil'; and the author of 'Leviathan,' Hobbes (certainly not an advocate of the 'Rights of Man' or by any means a 'Latitudinarian') would, indeed, seem to make a pair. I am however not a little surprised that our good friend Neil would so like to be identified with the conservative CALVIN!!!!

OK ... I object to THREE pages of talking about NEIL.

I am jealous. ALL this attention about Neil has diverted the attention that I was hoping for.

Comeon ... Three pages??? Give this a permanent REST. Like in the grave ... Like RIP it.

Naner naner naaanneeer, I got 3 pages and you got nooooooone!

Aw, truth of the matter is that you have been enjoying ripping me up anyways...I'm still looking for all those women commnets that I was to have recieved....Elmo better than Calvin. [snorrt]

HA!

And I wouldn't say that there are 3 pages...If you look carefully, this superiorly intelligent subject is currently GOING ONTO his 3rd page of discussion...Meaning that there are 2 full pages of humor for all to enjoy, and it will continue for as long as I am the ...um...bottom end....of the subject...

As for your "jealousy", I have only one thing to say, REDWOOD...

Hey Neil!

Whatcha doin', picking on my friend Redwood? Let's see that kindler, gentler Neil that was around here for awhile. I can see that we need to retire Calvin again and bring back Elmo. The change was noticeable. Besides, Calvin WAS an arch-conservative conformity-enforcer. Not a fitting icon for Neil.

Elmo is much more appropriate and a good influence.
