Dear AZ Staff and Friends,

I just got a text message from Kristian Allen, videographer for the Quie t Hour, and he asked for immediate prayers for their very serious situation in India.

I phoned the manager of the Quiet Hour and he assures me that they need our prayers. Bill and Jackie Tucker are in meetings in India along with Don Folkenberg and other staff of QH and ShareHim. A local lawyer filed charges and two of the group (don't know if they were local pastors or not) were arrested. The others are barricaded in their hotel. Right now it's about 3:00 a.m. in India. The hotel is surrounded by an angry mob. They would like to get our people out but it may not be possible with this mob scene.

PRAYER! They're requesting it. I'll give updates as they are given to me.

Thanks!

Phil Draper

Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

I just got this note in my e-mail as well:

I received a phone call from one of our church members who had received a phone call

from a member of the Mid-Rivers Church asking that we get a prayer chain started to pray for a group of Adventists who are doing evangelism in India. It is reported that the group has been arrested and put in jail and threats of harm are being made against them. It is reported that in the group are: Don Folkenburg with the Share Him evangelism program, Bill and Jackie Tucker from the Quiet Hour, Andrew Jasper from the Clinton, Missouri Church, and Pat from St. Joseph, Missouri. Please pray that God will intervene in this situation and that all people concerned will be safe and free to be able to continue on with their evangelism.

Got a PM a couple days ago. Tuckers were in the hotel, reportedly, and an angry mob of Hindu's were outside. Apparently a police escort came and took them to safety.

Yes. I received this e-mail tonight:

I just called Share Him and spoke to Bob Folkenberg Jr - this group is all safe and were escorted out of the city unharmed. They were "arrested" (sort of) in order to get them safely back to their hotels so they could pack and leave. Apparently on Wednesday night at a few sites there were Hindu militants causing a big ruckus and problems which warranted calling the police for security measures. I understand it was quite scary while that was happening, but all is well and no one was actually taken to jail - the Share Him folks were removed for their own safety but only taken to their hotels.

You may want to let Jerry know and any others. The Share Him organization appreciated all the prayers said on behalf of this group.

Thank you to everyone--if indeed, anyone--who offered prayers and petitions in their behalf.
