Woody
Yes Stan. You are right. Women DO need to know their place. We are just not sure what place that is. And we will debate what to do with that gender until kingdom come. How come they are so much trouble? BTW. Some here feel she was created "a little lower than the male species". I am sure they will show up to speak soon. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. carolaa
How come they are so much trouble? I'd like to answer "because we are worth it," but really I don't think we are the ones causing trouble; it is certain men who keep trying to put us down that are causing the trouble. Moderators Denise Posted February 20, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2008 That's a great book to read! I really like it. I just started reading Education, and that one is really good as well. I'm homeschooling my son, and find this book really inspiring and helpful. Oh, sorry, didn't mean to get off topic, l o l, but I am talking about one of the things that I am faithful in at my post of duty....so, it's sorta staying on topic. l o l :) Quote Be Kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another... Beryl
Hmmmmmmm!! So much for all the huha about the lower status for women!! There are other quotes in that book, too. Should have looked at them before. Ellen White has never spoken about women being downgraded, but has endeavoured to raise the status of women to where God wants them to be -- as members of the "harvest team". Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.

Woody
Thank you Amelia. My parents raised pure bred registered goats when I was young. I love referring to goats. Brings back great memories. Did I goat you into posting that ? From this quote I think we can see that women are to be an equal partner .... not a demoted or lessor partner. To be recognized by God but not by "men" ... does not seem Biblical to me. And to those who disagree with me .... I will loose the goats on them .... Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. LOL Do you really think that there are men here who would fess up to admiting that women are to be relegated to just servatude [housework, extra job, raising kids, etc]? David Koot
Oh, come now, admit it. Women ENJOY cooking and raising kids, stuff like that. Even housework. Why, I had a girlfriend once who told me how much she loved doing housework. Besides, they are SO much better at all three tasks--cooking, housework and raising kids. We should acknowledge that, and express our appreciation for a job wel done!
Nightingale
I really dont understand all the fuss regarding who is more important?!! Sorta of like asking who is more important the sperm or the egg.??!! Well, they are both equally important but very different. God created both men and women with very important but different roles. Obviously women were made to feed and nurture babies. Are the fathers not important? Very important but have different roles. Can men not nurture? Of course they can. But not in the same way. God created men and women different but equal. They were created with different roles. Society has made it difficult for women to feel important without filling the same roles as men. That was not Gods intention in the beginning. Personally I have found nothing in this world as fullfilling as raising my children to be everything they can be and to make a decision for Jesus. I agree that most women enjoy raising kids and "stuff like that" It is a challenging job to organize and keep a house, cook nutritious meals, teach children and etc. I really think the reason more women dont admit to enjoying it is because society on the whole has made them feel it is "servitude." Not true!!!!! Quote John 3: 16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
