Administrators Naomi Posted May 10, 2008 Administrators Share Posted May 10, 2008 Just for fun ........... It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read . Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! 1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat. (more than once but less than 10) 2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold) 3. Add 5 4. Multiply it by 50 5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758... If you haven't, add 1757. 6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born. You should have a three digit number The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.) The next two numbers are YOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!) THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK? It works, but how?? Members phkrause
Very Interesting. Ha!!! It works but how is a good Question. pkrause Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

cricket
Actually, it's really simple mathematics. I think we did the math on this a few years back...would have to drudge up the old thread.
Planey
x 2x 2x+5 100x+250 100x+2008 (ah so!) (Now 2008 subtract your birth year will give your age as a two digit number except in the unlikely event that you are over 100. If you are less than 10 years old your age will show up as, say, "07") 100x+age Hence the final answer would be x(age). Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted May 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted May 16, 2008 Graeme, I'm so glad we have a math wizard on this board! You must have been teaching math for many years, to be able to reduce that problem to its barest essentials. Great! Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional.... Tallmark
Think of a number, double it. Add 10. Divide in half. Subtract from that the number you first thought of. Your answer is 5.
