Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted July 25, 2008 Moderators Share Posted July 25, 2008 Randy Pausch died early Friday, July 25, 2008. He became famous for his "Last Lecture" at Carnegie Mellon University during the fall of 2007. He was diagnosed with cancer several months ago, and presented his "last lecture" to a packed lecture hall in the fall of 2007. It was filled with humor, and the lecture itself was posted on the internet. He remained upbeat all throughout his last illness--happy that he could still outrun most other Americans his age even when weak from chemotherapy. His "Last Lecture" was also published in book form. He dictated it to a friend via his cell phone, taking approximately 47 days to complete the dictation. The friend had it published, and it's available now in bookstores. He was 47. He leaves his wife and three young children. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
Amelia
A friend of mine got me his book for my birthday in June. I read it in one sitting one Sabbath. It was that good! Last time I checked on his blog a few weeks ago he was still with us. He outlived the time frame he was given and it was God's blessing that he had that much more time with his wife and young children.
