jasd
Ah, shoosh. It looks as though the Pakistanis have less forbearance than we. Federali neighbours to the South make regular hot incursions into our country with nar' a complaint from us. Ah well, we are simply a kind and self-sacrificing people... generous to a fault. carolaa
Here's an interesting interview that talks about why Pakistan and other countries don't like us and why we are failing so miserably in our foreign policy: http://www.democracynow.org/2008/9/16/tariq_ali_on_the_duel_pakistan
Dr. Shane
If Obama is elected it sounds like he is ready to declare war on Pakistan day one. In his convention speech he said, John McCain says he will follow Osama to the gates of hell but he won't even go to the cave where he lives. We all know Osama's cave is in Pakistan. carolaa
Yeah, as you know, I'm not too impressed with either candidate's foreign policy ideas.
Moderators Bravus Posted September 20, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 20, 2008 Nope. It is absolutely possible for America to go in to Pakistan (which, remember, is a US ally) and hunt for bin Laden without declaring war on Pakistan. Dr. Shane
What constitutes declaring war? As far as I am concerned when Congress gives consent to invade another country that is declaring war no matter which words are used. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... carolaa
They may not be an ally for long. They fired at our soldiers when they tried to cross the border from Afghanistan this week.

carolaa
Has anyone seen whether there were Americans among the 50 killed in the Marriot bombing in Islamabad yesterday? I haven't seen any reported, so am assuming there were not any.
Woody
Yes. I believe I heard that there were Americans. What a shame. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won.
