cricket
Speak up! Sound off! Right now there are 10 registered users online, 175 anonymous ones. I'm trying to post something here and it's taking me forever. Speak up, don't just sneak up! We're waiting to hear from you. Unless of course, our opinions are so much more interesting than your's? Nah. Couldn't be. I'd love to hear from you!
Pockey
I don't think you can post until you've logged in. And for that, you need to pay for a membership (or get the 1 month free thing). Otherwise don't you think they would've posted already?
Amelia
We now have 180+ anonymous users online and all but 4 are using inktomisearch.com . Hummmm never heard of that engine before. Moderators Bravus Posted January 7, 2005 Moderators Share Posted January 7, 2005 It's quite possible that's a bot: and if it's hitting us that strongly it might be misconfigured or something. Does this site have a robots.txt, Stan? I've avoided having one on my sites because I *want* the search engine's bots to be able to find me, but Inktomi is a pretty small search engine (IIRC - or is that the basis of Yahoo?) and excluding it might make life much better for all of us. cricket
Hey y'all! Yeah, I know all that stuff about anonymous users and such. It's just that when I'm on-line and things are running slowly, I kind of get a bit miffed seeing that there are something like 175 other people just tying my time down reading instead of posting and contributing to our conversations. Guess that some of "them" are these robot.t(e)xt guys. Hmm. Or, should I say, hurmph! Anywho. I'm running on mozilla foxfire and that little doggie at the bottom of my screen is running like a mad dog. (No pun intended, but it happened anyway!) Cheers!
