Dr. Shane
From what I understand, the McCain Amendment calls for all the stimulus spending to be suspended after two quarters of economic growth. The stimulus bill includes spending for up to four years into the future. If the McCain Amendment were adopted and the economy were to recover in the end of 2009 or in 2010 then all the money allocated for projects and programs after that would be suspended and have to be reauthorized by Congress before being funded. I think it is a good thing. The unfunded programs could always be funded again by a reauthorization. If the programs are good and worthwhile that reauthorization wouldn't be an issue. When the economy recovers we won't be so desperate to spend so much money so it may be a healthy thing to relook at the projects not yet funded. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Members phkrause
I agree Shane it does sound good. pk Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
