Liz
I would love to be the passenger, but right now I have to be the driver. Amelia
I prefer to drive. I'm not a back seat driver but some of my co-workers driving habits really annoy me. So that's why I prefer to drive. LOL Like my habits don't annoy others. Members phkrause
My philosophy is the need for speed. Yes I prefer to be the driver. I owned a 69 camaro, 93 vette. I've taken both to the max. There fore the need for speed. Quote phkrause Obstinacy is a barrier to all improvement. - ChL
Members rudywoofs (Pam)
If I'm going someplace where I know how to get to, I like to be the driver. And I drive FAST... (probably not as fast as you went, pk!!!) If I have never been to a place before, I prefer being the passenger - because I don't want to be lost all by myself! These days, though, I'm always the driver. If I've never driven someplace before, I try to get my mom to go to get lost with me. BTW, Mapquest doesn't always work... I'm still thinking about getting the GPS. Quote Pam      Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. Members rudywoofs (Pam)
One driving habit I've noticed men do, is that if they are going to turn left, they will get in the RIGHT hand lane until the last minute, then try and maneuver over in traffic to the LEFT lane to turn.....same thing if they're going to turn right, they will stay in the LEFT hand lane until the last minute, then jockey over to the lane they should've been in in the first place. I don't understand the male mind in this matter!!! Quote Pam      Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. Members rudywoofs (Pam)
From what *I've* seen, it is a male dominant trait. Women who do it must have too much testosterone in their system. [tic] Quote Pam      Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. carolaa
Or else they are lost or preoccupied. I don't think they do it on purpose like men do. But I could be wrong, of course. I've noticed men are more willing to cross traffic to turn left, too. A woman will turn right and then turn around somewhere rather than wait for a good chance to cross traffic for that left turn. GreatLakesGramma
I prefer to drive. But these days I can't. But it's my son who is chauffeuring me around, and he is a careful driver, so I'm OK with it. My husband's driving scares me in bad weather. But I am never a back-seat driver. The only time I don't like to drive is in an unfamiliar city in heavy traffic, unless I'm just passing through. If traffic isn't heavy, then it isn't a problem. I don't really get lost, because I have a good sense of direction and can always find my way back to where I came from. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Dottie
If I find myself on a road where I didn't expect to be, I just figure I've seen something new, then try to find my way back to where I planned on going. No sense in getting upset. I really --do-- enjoy driving.
