Woody
Today Obama signs a record 8,570 earmark pork projects. This will be the new 'read my lips' legislation. Obama had promised to not allow earmarks and then the first thing he does when he gets into office is to sign the biggest pork legislation in history with 8,570 earmarks. Can someone explain this one? Are we to take this president seriously when this is what he delivers? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Members phkrause
Don't forget redwood this was started by the previous President. Now that doesn't mean that I agree. And also he has not signed it yet! Has he? pk Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Woody
This bill has nothing in it that was started by the previous president as far as I know. Obama would not start a bill with anything from the previous president and by no means should he sign it if he opposes it. The president signed it today from what I heard. Members rudywoofs (Pam)
Quote: WASHINGTON – Calling it an "imperfect" bill, President Barack Obama signed a $410 billion spending package Wednesday that includes billions in earmarks like those he promised to curb in last year's campaign. He insisted the bill must signal an "end to the old way of doing business." The massive measure supporting federal agencies through the fall contains nearly 8,000 pet projects, earmarked by sponsors though denounced by critics. Woody
Thanks Rudywoofs. I especially think that Adventists should disapprove of all the 8,570 'pork' earmarks. Woody
I also thought it was interesting that Obama says that he was not able to go through the bill to determine what was good and what was not. So, he really has no clue. During the campaign ... he promised to go through each bill line by line and cut out the waste. That was when he wanted to get elected. This is now. Senator Obama voted to do away with ALL earmarks. President Obama signs in 8,750 of them. Presidential candidate Obama promised to do away with all earmarks. President Obama approves 8,750 of them. Moderators Gerr Posted March 12, 2009 Moderators Share Posted March 12, 2009 Yep. Just confirms what I have thought for quite sometime - those clowns we send to Washington have betrayed the American people, and are mostly responsible, along with the greedy business execs, for the country's problems! They keep spending money we don't have, for projects we don't need.
