Woody
Okay. I want all of you who voted for some third party candidate of which you KNEW ... had NO chance of winning ... to CONFESS. Why did you waste yur vote? If you had voted for Palin/McCain ... we might not be in the mess we are in now. And headed for much more disaster. So, please confess to us. bonnie
Okay. I want all of you who voted for some third party candidate of which you KNEW ... had NO chance of winning ... to CONFESS. Why did you waste yur vote? If you had voted for Palin/McCain ... we might not be in the mess we are in now. And headed for much more disaster. So, please confess to us. A viable third party system is a long way off I think. We had Jessie and many hoped that was the beginning of the third party. He had some good points but tended to act like a spoiled child when he didn't get his way or he felt the press was unfair to him. It did tend to be hard on him but still he could have done a world of good if he didn't grab his toys and run home at every word he didn't like. He caused quite a stir at a rally when a college girl asked him what he was going to do to help those like her as she had a child, wasn't married. Who was going to provide daycare etc. Jessie told her he had not gotten her pregnant so perhaps she needed to be asking the father these questions. I don't think a vote here or there would have prevented Obama winning. It was a novelty,it was against Bush,an attractive family and the magical but wrongly interpreted change. Change we got. They are the new royalty of the US and nothing else really matters. They know he has lied on more than one occasion and the silence from those that voted for him is deafening Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Moderators Bravus Posted April 5, 2009 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2009 What an insulting premise for a question. Do you care about democracy at all? People's choice of who to vote for is sacred, and to say they have wasted their vote because they didn't vote as you did is insulting and antidemocratic. People's choice of who to vote for is sacred, and to say they have wasted their vote because they didn't vote as you did is insulting and antidemocratic. Really? I didn't ask the question. I didn't say they should not vote as they chose. The reasons for the vote for Obama is not really my reasons but those that have been stated by others. But a third party is long overdue according to many. Or was it the statement that most know he has lied to the american people that bothered you Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Moderators Bravus Posted April 5, 2009 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2009 Bonnie - I was responding to Redwood, not to you. I'm posting in the thread. Sorry if the forum layout did not make that clear. Quote Truth is important

Moderators Bravus Posted April 5, 2009 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2009 I know, that's because I just replied to the thread in the Quick Reply window. That just replies to the most recent post in the thread. I know, I should pay more attention to that and make it clearer, particularly if you are viewing the forum in 'threaded' rather than 'in-line' format, which is set in preferences. For now, you just need to accept my statement that I was responding to Redwood's thread-starting post rather than to your post. My post only makes sense that way anyway - as you pointed out, you didn't ask the question, and you were OK with third party candidates. Woody
Thanks dgrimm. I agree with you. The system is broke. But how to get the third party established .. I just don't know. And BTW ... no disrespect intended for your voting third party. I can certainly understand why. But, since the third party is not realistic at this point ... I have to wonder just how does it get going? I voted for Ross Perot ... so I am with you on this need. He had the best chance. I think he got 25%. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Members phkrause
Well Bonnie if Jesse Ventura had run for President he would have gotten my vote. And from what I've heard he did a lot of good for MN. And I agree that a third party will probably never win. pk Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

And I agree that a third party will probably never win. pk Jessie would never have made it that far. He acted like a spoiled brat for much of his term. He did have the guts to come down hard on welfare, school aid and many other issues. It was mind boggling to see welfare recipients protesting with signs that read "Don't take away our rights" and "Nazi" Didn't see anybody protesting the taking of money from hardworking citizens and putting it in the pocket that actually felt it was their right Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
