puddles
A friend of mine ask that I put up a couple prayer requests: Please keep the MacPherson family in prayer. They just lost their baby girl (just a couple weeks old) to a congenital heart defect. She was born with only 3 chambers in her heart and underwent surgery recently but apparently it was too little too late. The parents knew she had this problem prior to her birth and that her survival was "ify" at best. Also, a mutual friend of both my friend and I is facing a personal delimma. She is originally from here where I live and wants to move back home and bring her mom (also a native)but her siblings are making this incredibly hard for some reason. Her mother has the early signs of Alzheimers (sp?) and doesn't do well but we've noticed that Janice (Mother) has "perked" up when she's "back home" around folks she's used to. She lived here all her life but within the last 5 years, her children moved her away and she has spent most of these past year yeas with her kids but only recently has our friend (her youngest daughter and the only one of the children to become SDA along with her Mother)begun to bring her mother home to visit with her church family and friends. This is when our friend (btw, she is a RN) noticed her Mother seemed to improve mentally when she was back home. This has led her to move back here and bring her Mother back with her. They are home again this weekend and from what my friend has shared, she's tried to reach out to her siblings to agree to let her move back with Momma and they don't seem to crazy about this idea. Please pray that things work out so my friends can move back home.
Members phkrause
Yes will also be praying. pk Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Administrators Gail Posted May 12, 2009 Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2009 Hi, Puddles You are so faithful in praying for others. How sad a situation is this! Both of them, but as sad as losing a child is I gather from your post that the parents were somewhat prepared and are at peace with the outcome. May the Lord comfort them in their grieving. The other situation breaks my heart. I sure hope that I don't end up like that when I get old! Dear Father in Heaven, we just don't know what the dynamics are in this family that Puddles has mentioned. We lift this poor woman up to you and pray for your mercy in her life. We also pray, Lord, that the caring daughter be strengthened for the task ahead of her and that Your name may be glorified for the love and mercy that is Your character. Father, I also lift up the other family members of this woman, that their hearts may be pricked and that they may experience compassion for her. When people are dying, when they are old and fading away, I wish that their final days may be filled with peace and not confusion. You know their hearts and the best way to reach them. Thank You, Lord, that You are the Living God, and a very present help in trouble. Thank you for hearing our supplication and I thank You for the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us and knows what we should pray for. May it be according to YOUR will. In Jesus' name, amen. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
puddles
Thanks everyone! May I add one more please? Tomorrow, a couple of friends (Melissa and my precious Grandma Doris) and I are setting out with a bus tour for Hilton Head, SC. We will be gone 5 days. This may sound somewhat on the selfish side, but I have looked at the forecast for this area and rain is being called for each day we are there. I don't mind the rain but would appreciate it if our trip wasn't a total wash (no pun intended). All three of us have been looking forward to this trip and could use a break from our normal routines. May I ask that you pray for a safe trip as well as some sunshine? Me personally, I would be happy just to get away from my office and whish my hubby and mother could tag along but this is not the case. However, my 2 companions are really into the planned outings and on Monday a dolphine watching cruise is planned and there are storms forecast for this day. Just please remember this little trio of God's daughter's in your prayers that we enjoy our time away. Hmmm...prolly need to tag another one one as well. Please also pray that my brother and his wife, his mother/father/sister in law have a safe trip as they all set out to drive to WV from TN and MI for Memorial Day Weekend. Also, please pray especially for my brother's father in law as he fell last this past week and broke his ankle. He is still planning on doing as much as he can! What a trooper! Thanks! puddles
Wow...I do apologize for not coming here in over a month! Needless to say things have been a bit hectic. My trip to SC went well considering it was cold and rainy nearly the entire time. I had to chuckle over that and the fact that our local Savannah, GA tour guide told us it had not been so cold in Savannah on May 18th since...1874! My friends and I really loved that one! We did have one scare tho. One of the ladies on the bus did end up spending a night in the hospital. Seems she suffers from motion sickness and on our way down, didn't take any meds and ate a rather large meal. She wasn't feeling well and mentioned she was having chest pains. We stopped, called the local paramedics and off to the hospital she went. It did end on a better note once it was established that she didn't have a heart problem only a really bad case of motion sickness and really really bad heartburn! Also my brother and wife and all her family made a safe trip out for Memorial Day weekend. My mother had a really nice visit with them! Thanks for your prayers!
