Now don't get me wrong, most doctors are not like that but there are many that do. My wife works in health care and sees and hears that all the time. But no matter what happens with health care, I don't think this will change anything. Doctors will do whatever they do one way or the other. Do we pass or should we pass a law that will punish all of the above for the few we know should be? Not only punish but cost trillions of dollars. Our family has many in the medical profession as well as employed by the denomination. From them and my own experience I have never run across a DR that would remove a child's tonsils just for more profit. There are car mechanics that do that too. Some mechanics actually fix things on cars that are not broken. I thought that is what the courts were for? How many trillion are you recommending going into each area that has less than honorable people? Would Obama's right to control include solving the problems of unscrupulous denominational employee's and CEO types? Would that come before or after the bad auto mechanics? No one but Obama thinks or says that is even possible. Check if you haven't what the CBO has to say about his budget neutral takeover of the health care Aside from your rosy glow over Obama's words,free or not what right does the government have in deciding many of these things? We have laws for a reason. Certainly doesn't work perfectly but gives recourse for shoddy work or medical mal practise. Even if the approach Obama takes to rushing ahead removing any obstacle so we needn't think and act for ourselves works,where do you want it to stop? So far I know you are in favor of government control of C Credit card companies. You seem to want Obama to regulate and oversee your health care,you want government control of auto mechanics. When do we get to your approval of the government removing any and all that are less than they should be in our denomination. We do have courts for some of that but how much easier would it be to avoid years in litigation and have government control so some of us don't run into some very nasty,unexpected real life tragedy? They just can't stand to see a black man succeed in the White House. Obama is a lot like Abraham Lincoln. He said that government must do for the people what the people cannot do for themselves. That includes taking on the filthy rich insurance companies and the wicked, mean doctors that just operate on people to line their pockets so the can drive BMWs and Mercedes. I think part of the health care reform should include making doctors by from GM or Chrysler until those companies are financially stable again. Of course we have to keep a close eye on those mechanics working in the dealerships. Not a lot of difference between a doctor and a mechanic really - just the pay scale. Part of Obama's problem seems now that many are beginning to to realize the "candy man" brings a lot of risk and economic mess I really don't think so,but given your victim status of some credit card users,it may be your view as well. My parents and my husband would have been denied care that either saved, prolonged their life, and added greatly to the quality of their remaining years. That will mean more hotels, restaurants and retail centers here in the border area. How can I possibly oppose that? I am in construction. Someone has to build all those things for the medical "tourism" we are going to have. Not to fear all you credit-card addicts. Those credit cards can be used in Mexico to pay for all those procedures that will not be available in the states. I am ahead of the curve already. Dr. Shane Posted July 24, 2009 Share Posted July 24, 2009 The care I am use to is provided by a Mexican doctor off the beaten path. She doesn't even market her services to Americans. I found her by asking at a local pharmacy late one Sunday afternoon if they knew of a doctor that could give me a tetanus shot, after I had stepped on a rusty nail at home. She has been our doctor for years. She is a OB/GYN and a surgeon. When we call her on her cell she meets us in her office even when it is 2:00am in the morning and one of the kids is running a fever. I don't think we have ever had to wait more than 30 minutes in the waiting room before an appointment. She has a lab a few blocks away when testing is needed. There is an x-ray clinic a few blocks in the other direction. She refers us to specialists when needed. I am very happy with my care and don't expect anything to change with that. The only thing I really don't like about the Obama plan is the idea of fining people that don't buy insurance. I have major medical insurance which has a $10,000 deductible. You must have read the well over a thousand pages then. Obama doesn't even know what Obama's plan is. He has said he hasn't and the senators said they had not and didn't plan to. He couldn't have read it and reassure everyone about choice and lower cost. Most people expect insurance to pay for anything and everything.
