War in Afghanistan

Recommended Posts

Obama says that the goal of the war in Afghanistan is not victory. If our goal is not to win .... why are we having a record number of soldiers die there? And why is Obama sending more and more soldiers to die?

May we be one so that the world may be won.

I can only imagine the parents,wives/husbands/brothers of the soldiers sent to fight and many die in Afghanistan and be told it is not for victory.

Wonder if Obama is turning out to be what so many signed on for?

Good Question Bonnie. And I happen to have the answer for you. In the most recent poll disclosed today .... there are more people who oppose what Obama is doing than those who approve.

Give him some time. Obama is still in his on-the-job training. He will get it right before he is up for re-election. Don't worry.

I don't worry about him getting it right,I do worry there are enough people not paying attention, asking questions and demanding answers that he will get another term with time enough that America will be at best a socialist country and possibly worse.

I do not have to wait for him to learn to be upfront with the american people. That he should be without on the job training.

He should never have used the bully pulpit of the presidency to target AIG employee's. Standing there with his phony "I am so angry,I am choked up" about the bonuses he and others had already approved, feigning surprise and shock. He should not have to learn on the job not to fan the flames of racism when he admits he doesn't know what he is talking about then says the police officer acted stupidly anyway.

He should already know what the constitution says about having 31 czars that answer to no one but him, along with it being fully staffed.

He should know when he is promising all sorts of wonderful things with health care reform that it would at least be helpful to know what is in his own bill.

He should know what the word transparent means. He also should know what it means to keep your word.

Do you need on the job training to have a little honesty?

How much did we hear about the inexperience of Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin had more executive experience than Obama so if she had been elected we would have more right to hold her to a higher standard.

How much experience do you think is required to be transparent ,straight forward and honest? He appeared t understand those words when he spoke them so are you saying he needs more experience to understand what he himself has said?

How much is needed for someone with the legal background of Obama to understand the 31 czars he has appointed and is responsible to no one but him is unconstitutional?

Even after warnings from his own side of the aisle. And keep in mind,he has been touted as one of the smartest men to ever hold the office of the presidency.

Is experience required to hold someone to a higher standard of honesty and transparency

Obama is from Chicago. It is going to take a little time to learn how to be transparent and honest. I don't think we can expect Obama to be as honest and straight forward as Sarah Palin for at least a year.

I do think he should consider making Sarah Palin an honesty czar. She is now going to be free to help Obama out in the capacity.

By the time you are his age honesty is not something you learn with on the job training.

He may learn to use it sparingly when it is expedient but so far it looks like his most ardent supporters do not care about his dishonesty.

That is unlikely to change. Those rewarded for their dishonesty know it is a green light to continue

I am not that far from becoming his age. But I am not from Chicago.

Do you have to be from Chicago to learn dishonesty??

If you believe that then you should have had some problems voting for him even if you are a moderate

I had a bigger problem voting for wishy washy McCain. I don't think one has to be from Chicago to learn dishonesty. From what I understand, folks from Louisiana and New Jersey are pretty good at it too.

By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

I am quite sure you can find dishonest people anywhere. That is not as curious as those that revere and idolize someone that has shown less than honesty.

Whether it is on the forum or in personal life. A train of thought is evident. It really isn't Obamas fault, after all Bush you know.....

Most supporters really don't care. It is a little like Al Franken. A comic crook. The favorite bumper sticker here around election was "Vote for Al Frankin,he is a crook, but he is our crook"

Well Obama has had a lot of bad influences in his life that he has to overcome. He had a racist pastor for 20 years. He has been surrounded with terrorists and crooked politicians in Chicago. I think all that traumatized him but given a chance he will sort things out and be as honest of a President as G.W. Bush was. I know he is far from that now but I think he can do it.

For some reason Shane you have decided to make a mockery or joke out of anything I say. As a moderator I am assuming that you believe it is a good example for all to follow. Certainly more subtle and deceptive as to intent isn't it?

You claim Obama has been traumatized, and your excuse is........

Have to agree with timewarp, straight forward,no mincing of words is so much nicer to deal with.

Let's try to avoid personalizing posts. I find the entire political process quite comical. I see a lot of role reversals that have taken place since President Obama has taken office. Myself? Well, I defended President Bush a lot and criticized him on some things too. Same pretty much goes with President Obama. President Obama did an absolutely fantastically wonderful terrific, awesome, unbelievable, incredible job dealing with the nasty, wicked, evil, greedy, heartless, cruel credit card companies. I give him a lot of credit for that. He seems to have saved the American auto manufacturers. He didn't do so great when he villianized the hard and honest workers for getting their due bonuses. He allowed way too much pork to go into the stimulus bill. I supported the idea of a stimulus but not all the unproductive pork. All and all I think he is doing an OK job. He isn't doing as well as President Bush or Clinton but he is just starting out so I am giving him some time. He is one of the most inexperienced and unprepared men to have become President so it is going to take him a little bit to figure things out.
