Moderators Bravus Posted January 29, 2005 Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2005 Quick, I'm working on my NFDMTTS for tomorrow, and I want to show a slide of things Christians are scared of. I have Spongebob and Harry Potter already - what else is relevant? Quote Truth is important

Guest
Telling the pastor his NFDMTTS sermon stinks as they shake his hand at the door.
Moderators Bravus Posted January 29, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2005 Agreed to both of those, but (a) they're kinda hard to capture in an image and ( I kinda meant more pop-cultural type phobias, like the ones I listed. Thanx, though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Quote Truth is important

aldona
Muslims (especially PRACTICING ones, who wear real head-scarves or turbans - there might be a bomb under there). Reading any religious book that does not come out of an ABC or your local Christian book store (Be careful! You are about to get CONTAMINATED with IDEAS from OUT THERE!) WORLDLY PEOPLE. Whatever that means. In my orientation week at medical school, I went to a dinner where the purpose was to meet new fellow students (mostly very conservative upper-middle-class white Christian or Jewish youth) and my parents almost didn't let me go because THERE ARE GOING TO BE SO MANY WORLDLY PEOPLE THERE! Gasp! How was I ever going to cope when let out into a real hospital with patients? aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music? Moderators Bravus Posted January 29, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2005 Thanks all - I ended up with movie posters from 'Dude, Where's My Car?' and 'Alien versus Predator' and the game 'Doom 3'. Note that I'm not defending the value or goodness of any of these things, just musing about whether a response of faith (and critical reasoning, and remembering that by beholding we become changed) is healthier than a response of fear: John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Quote Truth is important
